Yeah, and that was a rare jump to make back then. Most of the old Harlem Italians moved up to the East Bronx, and in smaller numbers out to the Corona. But Harlem to Brooklyn was much less common.

Corona was Little Italy of Queens before Ozone park, true? Then Italians from ENY moved Ozone park.

Yes, Alex. Corona had its own Little Italy. There are still pockets of Italian culture out there, if not an actual Italians. Lots of Dominicans in Corona now. But still a few Italians.

Corona is where Farby and the rest of the Serpicos were originally from, but they set up shop in East Harlem. They did things kinda backwards now that I think about it lol.

It's mentioned in Wikipedia that Barney's father was also a made man in Genovese crime family. Is that correct?

Yes, the Buckaloo crew. His father was partners with Sammy Black.

Ah, I see. Was his father a well respected guy or did Barney outdo his father by miles?

furio from naples, I believe you omitted paul vario's sons lenny, and paul vario jr. are they not involved with what's left of paul vario's old crew, also jimmy burkes sons Frankie, and jesse, are they active in the family structure, perhaps as associates.

I have no idea, Alex. I can tell you quite a bit about Astoria and its history because I own a property there and it's a fascinating neighborhood with loads of history. But as for the rest of Queens, I only know the history as it relates to Harlem or the Bronx (for example, when I mentioned the Serpicos). In short, I know the Alois were Queens people, but that's about it lol.

Of course i understand,i read that they were Queens guys so i thought that they maybe came from Corona.Tough Tony of the West side is from Queens, that much i know.

Heard yesterday that Sonny Franzese and his familly was from Williamsburg and Greenpoint.Thought ony Bonnano guys came from that area.I guess it really dosent matter where you come from, and in wich familly you end up.

Yeah, I'm sure Jimmy didn't even care when he got the news in prison. I've heard that he put guns in those boys' hands when they were still teenagers. You have to be some kind of animal to force that shit on your children. Fate was too kind to Jimmy Burke if you ask me.

It sounds bad recruiting kids right. But a lot of people did it. They work cheap give them something big to do. It is easier to kill them after and get another kid. There a dime a dozen.

Kids knew that could happen and they did it any way. If you really want to make money you took a chance.

But if you did do something big and they didn't kill you. Your made without being made.

You go some where meet new people. You tell them who you know they call them. He gives you an ok your in with the new people. He vouched for you.

Add Carmine ''Tutti'' Franzese to the list. He was a made guy and brother of John Sonny Franzese. He died in the early 90's.
