faithful 1 I think that's exactly what it is, there may have been fbi involvement that could hurt the agency, namely, oc figures that may have compromised hoover. im sure there are many things about him that the public still doesn't know, and, some files may shed a bad light on him still.

As far as redaction is concerned, any identifying information (SS#, driver's license numbers, etc.) need to be redacted by law. Information concerning informants will probably always be redacted as well. Also, just because someone has not been identified in a court of law as being associated with a criminal outfit, it does not mean that their name will be redacted from files. I have seen lists of family memberships that have not been redacted - being a part of a crime family or even associating with known members isn't technically against the law (unless there are parole restrictions against that individual). Blood family members will, however, almost always be redacted. Snakes, were you a FOIA officer at some company before?
