I think its an okay article. He does point out (intentionally or not) the absurdity of the resources the feds expend to the "mafia" in philly. They are nowhere near the most powerful group operating in that area but they get the most attention from the feds. What are they fighting for? Jail cells and coffins? Nope, just jail cells. Like any mob family once a good scam/rackets gets going w steady $ and they can expand it there's bound to be problems. So the article is kinda dumb if it anything it's historic but I"m sure the writer just wanted to generate a lot of hits using that title it's all people care about nowadays making an extra buck whether it's true or not..

I operate the blog Cosa Nostra News. I wrote the Borgesi story...I have three separate sources in Philly. On the street. I talk to mob guys in New York too. I don't care what ya say -- but don't say I make stuff up. At least go on my blog and make that comment and see if anyone responds to you and how. I write the news; I don't invent it. My three sources all agree with what's in my article. When the sources in Philly separately tell me I got it right that's good enough for me. I never said you made anything up. If you read my post I stated my opinion and said whether it's true or not leaving it up to interruption or perhaps to continue the discussion sir.

I'll make sure to comment on your blog. " I talk to Mob Guys on the internet you mean " I highly doubt your in the street or meetings these guys discussing lcn over sausage n peppers or GA's favorite Broccoli Rabe. I like GA don't get me wrong but I always laugh when he starts going into detail about a huge spread n all the food shit in his books

There's so many high ranking members, not enough administration spots. It's called all chiefs, no Indians. And that's how every criminal organization, starting with the Roman Empire, fell apart. THIS regards Philly. And Im not in nor from Philly. But Borgeasi the top spot? To quote Jnr Soprano "Not in this lifetime" But thats just my opinion.
MORGAN: Why didn't you fight him at the park if you wanted to? I'm not goin' now, I'm eatin' my snack. CHUCKIE: Morgan, Let's go. MORGAN: I'm serious Chuckie, I ain't goin'. WILL: So don't go.

Is that why you changed your story when everyone started pointing out how it was pure bullshit? Changing it from NEW BOSS IN PHILLY to GEORGE IS TRYING TO TAKE THE SPOT, is a hell of a lot different. Sounds like it wasn't good enough for you, and you changed your tune. Otherwise, I like a lot of your articles...but that was just bad and irresponsible reporting to declare him official boss cuz 3 jerkoffs told you so.

I don't even follow Philly, and I usually preclude anything that I post about them by saying as much. But I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that you're the same guy who "broke" the story last year that Frank Cali was the new boss of the Gambinos. Except no one said anything to him or Dom . When it turned out to be utter speculation (eh, let's be honest, it was bullshit), you quickly followed up with a headline that stated that "Frank Cali Turns Down Boss Position," or some similar crap, because you weren't a big enough man to admit that you just got it wrong. And again, for all I know about Philly, Borgesi is the second coming of Frank Costello. But you got it wrong about Cali last year, and you never did own up to it.

you're the same guy who "broke" the story last year that Frank Cali was the new boss of the Gambinos. And that, ends the story. Thread closed.

He was completely wrong on ol Corky boy. That is why he had to edit the article. You cant just go from, hes the new boss! to...he is trying to push for boss! and expect people to allow u any credibility. As far as Cali...he is just a really powerful capo? could be underboss I guess, but I have no idea. From what I have read, guy holds a ton of sway though.

Cali was definitely made UB after Cefalu took over, Capeci doesn't get it wrong often.

Yeah I thought I had read he made UB, but didnt want to say for sure, which is why I said he was at the very least, a powerful capo. But yeah that rings a bell Capeci reporting he was UB

For all intents and purposes it sounds like Cali is the power in the Gambino family whether or not he's the actual boss That's not the point. Like I said, he's a very powerful guy, and that crew definitely has the reins in that family right now. But he's not the boss, and reporting that he "turned down the job" was lousy reporting because it's absolute bullshit. In all fairness to EVL aka ed scarpo(guy who runs cosa nostra news), i believe it was muarry weiss who wrote those two piece of shit articles of frank cali....so unless theyre the same person i dont think evl wrote those articles. Okay, he didn't "break" the story. I stand corrected. But he DEFINITELY posted it right to his blog and ran with it. And he never printed a retraction when it turned out to be untrue. I was just using his past reporting as a baseline for his credentials about this Borgesi stuff. I post all day long that I don't know, or give a fuck, about a dozen Guidos working on their tans in Margate. But I like to think I know a thing or two about the New York families.
