To be honest i agree with you on Messi, but i didn't wan't to just name a load of German players tongue . James was my favourite of the tournament but there's no chance he'll get even the Bronze ball, he'd be the first Quarterfinalist in a 32 team tournament too if he did.

While Muller has been great i'd probably have Lahm and Neuer ahead of him as well as Messi who has done more for his team as a whole imo. Neuer has obviously not been shortlisted because he'll win the Golden Gloves award, but i think his aforementioned sweeper contributions have been ignored.

Neymar deserved his inclusion imo at least. He was the only presence Brazil had in attack for their first 5 games, seeing him limping into the tunnel in his full kit made me feel horrible for him. I don't think he deserves any awards, but i do think he was one of the top 10 players of the tournament.

The award i'm wondering about is the young player award. I can't think of anyone who's under 21 that's featured prominently enough to deserve it, like Muller in 2010 and Podolski 4 years ealier. Am i forgetting someone?


Off the top of my head i can only think of Paul Pogba for France but he's over 21 i believe .

So the biggest sporting event in the world is nearly upon us, the Americans will say its the Superbowl but no chance,the World Cup final is King..

Super bowl is a joke two teams that only play in the United States smile

The only thing I really dislike about the WC is the commentary. Like I need to hear others try to explain to me the only game I really love.

I turn on the tv with the volume off, and then listen to all kinds of music on my iPad while I watch them game.

Germany to win all day long. I tipped then from the start and they have impressed all the way through.

Been a fabulous World Cup though, one of the best I can remember!!

In my life time this is the best world cup, 1998 was pretty good as well..

What a goal. Germany really deserve this, so hopefully that'll be enough. This was basically the exact same as the 2010 final, late goal in extra time 1-0 win.

Germany are the deserving winners. They're the greatest international team imo, with 4 World Cups and 3 Euros. Now i just want to see who wins the Golden Ball. Also congrats to James for winning the Golden Boot he really deserved to take something away from this WC.

Here's the WC All Star team picked by FIFA. GK - Manuel Neuer. DF - Marcos Rojo, Mats Hummels, David Luiz ( lol ), Phillip Lahm. MF - Bastian Schweinsteiger, James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos. FW - Arjen Robben, Lionel Messi, Thomas Muller.

Phillip Lahm (06,10,14) becomes the third player to be named to three All Star teams after, Djalma Santos (54,58,62) and Franz Beckenbauer (66,70,74). The only real problem i have with this team is David Luiz, i'm not even sure who i'd replace him with but his inclusion is a joke. I would also probably swap Schweinsteiger with Mascherano.

David Luiz being picked is a bit of a joke, if there has to be a Brazilian player in there then Thiago Silva is the better choice..

I was impressed with Rafael Márquez of Mexico..
