Nadia: You just... I mean, you just fucking shot him.

Bob: Yes, I did. Absolutely. He was gonna hurt our dog.

Tom Hardy hasn't let down yet in anything ive seen him, i wonder what the new Mad Max will be like, for a remake it actually looks decent from the trailer.

Has anyone seen Martina Cole's The Take, British 4 part gangster/crime drama with Tom Hardy in it.

I really liked this film. I thought everyone in it did a good job with their roles and I liked the New York setting. I have never seen the original so I should check it out. But overall I thought this version was really well done.

I'm kind of lost too after watching it.

Did the gang shoot Marv because they knew he would try to take the Super Bowl drop? Or did his cousin snitch him out? One would think if they thought one or both robbed them they would have popped both guys instead of just Marv.

Or did they figure it out after catching the guy with the stopped watch and then finding his brother in the street?

It was crazy how cold Marv's cousin was. I never would have thought he was a stone cold killer until they found the hand and you just knew he done something like that before especially getting rid of it like he did too.

Bob was loyal only to himself, the girl and the dog. Could you see how much he despised Marv? So to me yes I believe he gave up that info. He knew it was only a matter of time before they caught up with Marv anyway.

So true about Bob's character as coming across as a nitwit. When he was in the cellar I knew he had killed or had a hand in witnessing someone being killed. As soon as he reached for the plastic wrap I said to myself Yup he's the killer and he's gonna play everyone and I was right.

Thanks girl, I was wondering if others thought the same way I did. I was under the impression he gave up Marv, especially when at the end the detective asked him "they never see you coming, do they Marv?" and smiled.

Where I was lost is I wonder if the kid with the stopped watch gave up the info or if Bob did or did the writer want us to keep wondering that?

I agree now that you mention it, that he did despise Marv in a way. The more the movie went on the more he seemed to tell Marv he was nothing anymore and poke and prod him into trying to make a move on the drop so he could end up dead. Maybe Bob was one or two steps ahead and knew Marv was behind the crazy dude trying to extort him?

Bob gave up the info by mentioning the stopped watch to the detective. So Marv had to take care of that guy so he severed the arm and killed him. Is that what you mean?
The writer really didn't let us in on just how the gang knew about Marv getting ready to take the drop. I don't think the gang even had a clue about who robbed them. So my best guess is that the gangsters were following Marv watching his moves, found out he was involved in killing those two guys and the gang clipped him. What do you think? Does that make sense?

Edit: I'm going to watch that one scene again with the severed wrist watch hand. Bob had to do that making Marv think the gang did it and the gang thinking Marv did it. The writers did a good job in that scene.

Yea I was wondering if the gang killed the stopped watch guy or if Marv did? I'm thinking now like you said it would have to be Marv or they would have killed him instead of leaving the arm.

I now agree with you, Bob killed the stopped watch guy and left it to trick Marv, then ratted him out to get popped at the end.

Makes sense now. Bob really was a sneaky bastard. He knew right away who the guy with the stopped watch was I think.

Dixie I kept thinking about what you said the detective said...he said they never see you coming do they. That's why I'm pretty sure that Bob killed the stopped watch guy.

Too bad I quoted the wrong person. I typed Marv instead of Bob for some reason. Damn cold! After realizing how sharp Bob was with noticing things he knew right away I think when he seen the watch and like you said he killed the guy. It's all coming together now.

Yea I think the detective figured out it was Bob but he had no way in proving it and that is why he said it.

Thanks for the discussion, hard to find good talk on here these days without the fighting.

I kept getting their names mixed up cuz the name Bob doesn't fit Bob. He looks more like a Billy lol. And Marv, well he just looks like Tony to me ha ha. Just kidding.

Yea I really enjoy discussing movies and TV. What's the next movie on our list to discuss? You start a thread and I will look for it!

Nice chatting with you Dixie. Good stuff.

Do you think Bob was going to kill the dude inside his house from the get? Or did he just add it all up on Super Sunday? Also does anything like this really happen in bars in New York with drops like that?

I liked at end of movie how detective told Bob, "They never see you coming, do they Bob?" Great character played by Hardy

That's good question. I do think he knew the crazy guy was attached to Marv but I'm not sure if he knew where he was going to kill him or not.

Alfansogirl, I got The Judge tonight. Fixing to get me a shower and go watch it.

The star of this movie Bob is making a real name for himself.

The actor who played Bob is in a lot of movies. There are two movies he is working on that I want to see maybe.he is an English actor.

One is Smarkand I been to that city. It is a holy muslem city in ezbeckistan.

The other is where he plays an American terrorist who is killing Muslims after 9/11.

The liberal dream what some people don't know was that scenario could have easily happened after 9/11.

Great movie. As the movie went on more and more i expected Bob to do some crazy shit! At end when Marv got killed, i was wondering why he just sat there while the guy was walking to his car. its almost as if he was just waiting to be killed.
