Did you fry an egg on the sidewalk? 107 is inhumane. I don't think I've ever experienced that. Maybe 102, 103. I would think breathing is a problem. Went to the beach yesterday. Water temp 74, air temps low 80s, light sea breeze, occasional, small, puffy clouds. Perfect beach day. Today is probably the same, but staying home.

Hey SC, did you see the rain in your old neck of the woods yesterday? My sister-in-law and her family in Massapequa had to check into a hotel last night. And they didn't even get the worst of it. I saw that on Channel 7 News. Couldn't believe it!! Massapequa got over 8 inches of rain in just a few hours. That part of western Suffolk is roughly the exact same area that got bombed with three feet of snow two years ago. Hundreds of cars were completely buried in drifts on the LIE. Scary stuff. (Another repeat of last winter - cold and very snowy - is forecast for this year).

(Another repeat of last winter - cold and very snowy - is forecast for this year). It's really bizarre. I mean, ten inches of rain? That's Biblical right there. Think about that. When we get a normal pounding rain that lasts for a day or two, they usually come up with an inch and a half or two inches when they report it. But eight or ten inches in a matter of hours? And thanks for breaking the good news about the snow that's in store for us this year .

Yea, it's 102 here in my area of Cali too. Suppose to be hot at least the next 3 days. Summers always go thru September here. Can't complain!!! TIS

TIS has a big heart. One of the biggest of anyone I know. She has no blood, though. None whatsoever. She wears a sweater when it's 80°. I couldn't take that heat, Alfanosgirl.
(The Weather Service just issued a Frost Warning for my area tonight. Gonna get my winter blanket out). Ha ha ha!! You're right SC. I'm the oddball. I just went for a walk. Didn't see anyone else walking around. I always have a sweater with me in case I go in a place where the air conditioning is set on freezing. TIS

I really don't understand it, TIS. You survived all those winters in Michigan (practically the North Pole) and back in those years you had REAL winters .... the Ice Age years. Yea, but I was bitching the whole time, cursing MI weather. I hated walking in the snow. Before I left for work, I'd start the car and let it run for 10/15 minutes til it got nice & toasty when I got in it. Ha ha. Don't know how I didn't just shrivel up and die. Other than that tho, I like Michigan. TIS
