hk, looks like you have been doing some research on the Genovese family. the columbos hade greg scarpa, hell of a heavy hitter, it seems like the columbos were always at war with persico running them.
Persico was a very violent man. And he had plenty of guys who were fully apt to carry out his orders, also in between wars. He enjoyed (and perhaps still does) a great deal of respect and admiration due to his reputation from fighting the Gallos in the 1960s.
