alfanosgirl, those bikers are crazy, the angels and mongols had a shoot out at a las vegas casino a few years back, some innocent people got shot. they never learn. I was born in long beach calif, and raised in orange county, left in 1968 moved far north I was 26 then, and I don't regret leaving a bit, too many crazies in so. cal. never been back in 46 years.

Yesterday, my college's women's softball team was returning from a scrimmage game in Oklahoma when a tractor-trailer crossed the median and struck the team's bus. Four of the team's players were killed. None of the players are my students, but we are all devastated.

Life can be so fleeting. I think of their families and their receiving the news. I think of my 6 kids and how, so far, they are all healthy and safe.

If you live in Germany today is anniversary of unification when east and west Germany united. From people I talked to no one was happy when that happen.

In east Germany everyone had at a government supported low paying job. They were happy I am told with that what a bunch of idiots.

This news item is definitely in the WTF category. In Atlantic City; on Friday a 45 year old man is released from prison after serving 30 years for murder (do the math, he was 15 and shot a man). On Sunday, he killed his 64 year old mother at home - head trauma. $1 million bail. This ain't no Shawshenk Redemption.

weather has been very nice where im at up in the far north country. all month 65 to middle 7os. don't even need a jacket, maybe a warm winter coming. one can always hope.

I don't know if any of you are following the story of Eric Frein, the survivalist hiding in the rugged terrain of northeastern PA, suspected of killing a state trooper and seriously wounding another as they were leaving their barracks. The deceased is Bryan Dickson, and he lived in the town where I was born and raised. My mother and sister-in-law are friends of his widow. My father, suffering from dementia, occasionally leaves the house, becomes disoriented, and needs help returning. This past summer Mr. Dickson was running errands with his young children when he encountered my dad, not far from home, and knew something was wrong. He called the local police, who offered to take my dad home, but Dickson said he would do it and brought him to the porch where my mother was waiting. She gave his kids some candy, and said they couldn't have been nicer.

Anyway, Frein is believed to be confined within a five mile radius in the dense Pocono mountain woods. He's eluded capture for almost a month, but as the leaves are falling and the weather is getting colder, it's a matter of time.

klydon1 eric fein is doomed. once winter sets in he will have to start a fire, and when he does they will find him. we have had manhunts up here in the far north, and everytime winter approaches they are caught. nobody can survive a winter in the woods without a fire to keepwarm. hes DOOMED.

Kly, I was up to the valley this past weekend. Speculation is that the boy is resting on a Caribbean Island. Hard to believe that hundreds of cops can't flush him out. Today Gov Cuomo has his one debate against hopeful Republican Bob Astorino.

I have been seeing attack ads against Astorino before I even knew who was running against Cuomo.

The debate includes 2 other guys that have no chance. I guess they are there to also attack Astorino.

I suppose Cuomo will say he created 500 thousand new jobs here in NY. I wonder if anyone will mention how NY has lost well over a million jobs since Cuomo became Governor of NY.

I am sure Cuomo will be reelected he is the best after all he is an Italian.

Got him on Thursday. 48 days on the run. U.S. Marshalls found him hiding in an abandoned airplane hangar. The search for Frein cost $10 mil. The local District Attorney is calling for the death penalty. The Marshalls turned him over to the local State Police, who then cuffed him with the cuffs that belonged to the trooper who he killed. And drove him to jail in the trooper's car.

Theres a story I was reading about a father who tortured and killed a man who raped his 14 year old daughter. Good for this father! Sometimes, you have to take the law into your own hands. (Just don't get caught)

This story hit our news yesterday. For some reason the UK offered to train up 300 Libyan army recruits in the UK. These soldiers have not been here long but are being sent back. There have been numerous incidents with these fellas. Drunkeness, violence, fighting and several rape cases. Loads of them have been arrested despite many warnings. They are being shipped back to Libya pronto, and good riddance. What a stupid idea in the first place
