Blue skies and quite mild....but fairly windy!!

We had a windy weekend. In New York state there were areas hit by 50mph plus wind and many power failures. Also lots of early season snow in the south...like Columbia, So Carolina.

Rain today. Bright start to the day but the black clouds came over at midday and that was that....

A mild day here in Munich.

Getting ready to batten down the hatches here. We're supposed to get 12 inches of snow tomorrow. Yesterday I had all my windows wide open, enjoying unusually warm weather. Tomorrow I'll be looking out those windows at snow drifts.

Not only is it too early for this, but these weather shifts are insane. It was 20 degrees three days ago and 70 degrees yesterday. And it's supposed to get close to 60 again by the middle of next week. But we're only supposed to get 1 to 3 inches here in the City tomorrow. Thank God for small favors.

pb, if I was up to it physically I'd get in one more round of golf today before winter sets in. I HAVE to get out tomorrow and do some shopping but will hopefully get done before the snow starts sticking.

You're right - this is INSANE lately.

I was already at Waldbaums out in College Point this morning. There's the toll each way but it's a nice store and it's just easier than fighting traffic up in Westchester. Anyway, between the Thanksgiving shoppers, and the little old ladies killing each other over milk and eggs for the snow, I don't think I've seen a supermarket any busier on Christmas Eve (although the South Florida Publix stores can give them a run during Passover).

I was gonna say that you're lucky that you're in such a small town now. But I guess it's all relative because the stores are smaller, too. I've been to Price Chopper and those chains in mid-state New York during the winter, and they're every bit as crazy as they are down here. So good luck .

The map shows 12-18" in Mass. L.I. looks like 3-5". I think we are going to escape with only rain...which its doing now. I played 9 holes yesterday; 57 degrees and a slight breeze. Could only manage 1 par. Two other greens I was on in 2 and 3 putted , although they were 50 footers .

Cold one today..

Fucking snowing like crazy. VERY treacherous traveling conditions. I ended up skidding off the road this morning and ended up in a drainage ditch. Three other cars, within 50 yards of me, joined me in the ditch.

Cost me $150 to get towed out but I'm thankful I didn't get hurt and there was no damage to my car.

12 inches of snow is expected by the time it's all done tonight. Already have half on that on the ground.

I told you to do the shopping yesterday!

We only have an inch or two down here. But it's very "heavy" because it's mixed with rain and ice. The roads are a mess.

And how's this for an antiquated expression? My father's here and his hips are bothering him because of the dampness. I made him take a prescription painkiller and he had a glass of wine on top of it. He just yelled that I got him "all hopped up on goofballs" so he'd fall asleep early .

This is my life right now .

PB I thought we were coming y'alls way but these utilities didn't call ANYBODY to help out so if anyone loses power during this don't expect any quick repair. They might get burnt on this storm...

Here the other day it was 70 during the day then 39 at night. It's a bitch to work in because you go to work in the morning bundled up and by lunch you are sweating your ass off.

Im up in Fairfield CT for the holiday and we got about 4 inches here today and its still coming down and theyre saying maybe a couple of more inches overnight but it looks like its not going to be near the foot of snow they were predecting yesterday. I had to move my car for the plows earlier and slipped on some black ice and cracked my fucking head open a stone wall...i hate winter.

We're suppose to get into the 60s today. Sounds like a good day to work off some of the Thanksgiving excesses.

Monday, Atlantic City hit 72. I took a 10 mile bike ride on the Boardwalk in the morning when it only 60. Fantastic. Today it is cold, dreary, rain.

Cool & rainy, with current temp 57. Suppose to rain the next three days. I don't mind and we need it. Still, I'm freezing. Poor me!! I even bought those gloves with open finger tips so my little hands don't freeze. Seriously. I'm such a wuss when it comes to being cold.

Cold and overcast here with an Winter Weather Advisory for tonight (two inches of snow and a layer of ice and freezing rain expected).

Can't catch a break.... I was invited to join a few friends for dinner and drinks tonight. I want to go so badly but I'm gun-shy about driving in slippery conditions now (especially after my fiasco of sliding into a ditch last week).
