Some people theorize that it was Michael Ciancaglini who was the real force behind the young guys and Merlino was basically his Gravano in some ways. I don't know how true that is but judging from the pictures Mikey Chang seems to be the more charismatic of the two, not just that but Joey's demeanor just looks like that of a #2 guy when photoed with Michael Ciancaglini. Sometimes you could tell a lot from a picture, but who really knows.

I couldn't agree more based on the clothes and the conversation taking place, but that could have been Mikey Chang arrangement issue and merlino as back up,st but if ya look at any of the stories and who did what it always seemed joey led the way. and akways had a crew of hitters.

I always gave Merlino credit for being a stand-up guy and having a loyal core following. It's his "celebrity" that turns me off.

And it's that "celebrity" that will eventually put him away for good. Because you're spot-on about the Feds hating him. They're never going to give him any peace. Ever.
