Hi everyone... just one question which is bothering me about GFII...

Why doesn't Michael have Kay killed when he finds out about the abortion?

The only answer I can think of is that the traditional Sicilian ethic would forbid killing a woman. On the other hand, what she has done must be at least as bad in his eyes as what Fredo did - and he is not a man to let _any_ insult or injury pass...

I'd be curious for any suggestions.

Fredo put Mikes wife and family in danger.What Kay did was not near as bad as that. Kay was also not threat to the family(she wasnt going to try to kill Mike and take over) and she was not a threat to business. Plus that fact that she was a woman, and he did still love her.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still surprised, though. She had aborted not only his child, but his _son_. Wouldn't he have seen it as (to put it crudely) the female equivalent of a hit?

And doesn't his love for her disappear completely (for the time being, at least) when he finds out? Before she tells him, he is talking in terms of their future relationship together, but afterwards he simply tells her that she will not take his children - she herself has suddenly ceased to matter to him, she's put herself beyond the pale.
