I remember a long time ago when Little Jimmy Dickens had a number one Country hit with the novelty song May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose - which also made it to the Pop charts.

It looks like Mig was the only one to pick him for her list - her first "kill" of 2015!

Same here SV. The name rang a bell but I couldn't think of any song I knew by him. Since he's in the C&W field, and I'm not into C&W, no surprise didn't click. However, I DO remember "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose."

When I looked his name up I seen that he was hospitalized. Not thinking that he would pass so soon. RIP Little Jimmy.

Ellie May, Laura Petrie and Marlo Thomas on "That Girl" were the first adult women that I had impure thoughts about as a kid in the sixties. True story lol.

I saw Laura Petrie near Sardi's about 8 months ago.

I was surprise Donna Douglas was that old. She must have been 30 when she did the Beverly Hillbillies.

Max Baer jr was younger then her.

She had a small role in the L'il Abner musical that came out in 1959.

She also had a role in "The Twilight Zone" (from 1960). One of the great episodes. "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder".

Just read that ESPN and SportsCenter personality Stuart Scott has passed away at the age of 49. I know he's been sick with cancer for quite some time, but this one is a shocker. frown

Here's an article from ESPN.com

Tragic. He was one of the good guys in broadcasting. He'll be missed. And it brought Jimmy Valvano right to mind for some reason. The Valvano speech still chokes me up when I see it.

Seems I was the only one who picked her.

But there's one itty, bitty problem:

She actually died December 14, 2014, but there was no public announcement of any sort until today. The NY Times obituary says that her death was confirmed today through "public records".

confused

I don't know about last year, but I'm thinking of starting early on next year's list!

Yea, that's sad. It's amazing she's hanging on for so long, considering health issues. BUT, for your child (no matter how old) to go before you is just sad. frown

Well, she's still got the Self proclaimed "Prince" she's married to. lol

Would it surprise anybody if Zsa Zsa even survives past the self proclaimed Prince?

Cowboys great Jethro Pugh died at the age of 70. He was one of the foundation stones of the Cowboys powerful teams of 6he late 60s and the 70s.

I certainly enjoyed my Steelers victories over the Cowboys in their 2 SB matchups back then, but I had the greatest respect for Coach Tom Landry and the Cowboys generally.

I had no idea he was still around, for some reason I thought he passed away some time ago. He was also in Giant (wonder how many who were in that are still alive now) and Inglourious Basterds (his last film).

RIP
