It was in 1974 and it was taken outside of the Clean Air Sanitation Company, which was an Outfit owned company. Awesome. Thanks man. Did you get that in the files? I got it from a federal report on labor racketeering from 1983.

Salvatore "Tom Mix" SantoroSebastian John LaRocca :in front of the Allegheny Car Wash he owned, located at 100 Sandusky Ave, Pittsburgh Born in Sicily on Dec 19, 1901, LaRocca gained control of the Pittsburgh family numbers' racket in the 1940's and at one time finaced and controlled several gambling casinos in West Virginia's panhandle. In the early 50's, the immigration and Naturalization Service began deportation proceedings against LaRocca, contending he was an undesirable alien because of his conviction for larceny, receiving stolen goods and operating a lottery. However, then Governor John Fine granted a back dated pardon for the crimes and the INS case consequently was dropped.

Great pics PK haven't seen those. Thanks. I found them at an auction site and poorly identified. I thought I would put them back together with the names and post them here before they wound up buried in someone's collection or hanging on the wall of some bar.

What is the deal with all those pre-1950 photos with 5-10 mobsters standing shoulder to shoulder with no hint of a smile?.........Are those all, police line-up photos? Or, are they just a bunch of friends getting together and trying to look as mean as possible?.......Same thing, every time!......Everyone has a hat on!...Everyone has a trench coat on....Everyone looks like a mope!
I assume they are line-up photos but, wouldn't they demand the hats to be taken off for proper ID? I'm not sure. In the ones I posted, most of those guys were burglars, fences, etc. I suspect that any time they rounded up the usual suspects, they would take one of these shots. That way, anytime there was a burglary, they could show these around and see if anyone was seen in the vicinity.

It also depends on where they may have been taken into custody, some areas did not follow or have protocol for documenting arrests. Or they did but the rules were not inforced since they might have been fishin for bribes. That latest line up shot, The dude all the way to the right, looks like a stone cold killer. DP

You mean the guy half off the picture? He wasn't identified. But he sure looks like someone you would not want to see if you were behind on the vig.

Mighty Cesare! He might as well be strolling the Cala Marina. Looks like lately his ghost may have returned to prompt the Gambinos (Francesco Palmeri )to go collect the money lent to Lorenzo Marsilio in the 80s! Anybody know why it is a Gambino and not a Bonanno who is doing the collection? Also, would be thankful for someone posting a picture of the Roma Restaurant in Menlo Park, NJ (one of the epicenters of the Pizza Connection). Haven't see a single picture of that. Used to live in that neck of the woods and remember eating a couple of times in that very same restaurant. But the Mall's changed quite a bit from those days.
