I think where the confusion starts is the name "Black Mafia Family" (BMF). BMF is the name of the record label that the organization started, and was heavily involved in. People started calling the organization itself BMF. The organization existed long before the existence of the record label.
agree, 100%!! even though I still think they weren't that big of a deal before the label. there's a lot of embellishment to their story,thanks in large part to the book that's out there,most of which is exaggerated and made-up
