BTW it is amazing how much the FBI just kept following everyone around back then. My Wife's car wouldn't start one night out at Cherry's and Tony DelSanter lent her his car and she drove it to Akron. While overnight the "Mechanics" worked on her car. She parked it in her driveway and someone pick it up and dropped her car off. A friend of hers saw a picture from the FBI showing Tony's car in her Driveway. The Time frame was like Midnight to 5:00am for this above scenario.

I know plenty of New York people that recognize LCN outside of NY/CHI/PHILLY. And for those New Yorkers who don't recognize any LCN from other, smaller families...so be it. Their power was real and widespread. Families like Pittsburgh controlled all of Western PA, Northeast Ohio, the panhandle of West Virginia and Jamestown, NY. FYI: In the heyday in Pittsburgh/West Virginia/Youngstown, steel and auto were the main industry, but manufacturing in this region made this region very wealthy. Everybody was working, wages were great and everybody gambled. There was an illegal casino in Youngstown called the All American Club and the FBI said after they busted it out that it was the largest illegal casino in the country, "netting" $20 million a year for the Pittsburgh family from that one casino. Youngstown also had the Jungle Inn which was a nationally known illegal casino in the 1940's-1950's. Pittsburgh had casinos along Rt 30 in West Virginia, all over Western PA and in Northeast Ohio and owned several in Havana, Cuba with Meyer Lansky, Santo Traficante and Frank Costello. While it may not be NY, they also had no competition from other families and because the city politics hierarchy was smaller, it was also easier to corrupt. LaRocca and Genovese were big fish in a smaller pond...but they were important enough to go to Appalachin and be recognized as one of 24 original mafia families.

Since the topic is on the Youngstown area, how about some stories on how Cleveland worked with/against others in the Y-town area.

Tony DelSanter (Cleveland Capo) ran the Trumbull County (Warren/Niles, OH) rackets until his death in the late 1970's along with Charlie Imburgia (Pittsburgh Consigliere) and profits were split, 50% going to Cleveland and 50% going to Pittsburgh. Charlie and Tony had a very good relationship. In Mahoning County (Greater Youngstown), The Carabbia Brothers, Ronnie, Charlie & Orlie) had all of Struthers, OH as well as the eastern part of the county in towns like Lowellville, Columbiana, and parts of the city. The Pittsburgh Faaction had the rest of Mahoning County, Western PA and most of the city of Youngstown. Dominic Mallamo and Paul Romeo were the dominant force in Youngstown for decades but by 1981-1982 all the power was passed to Jimmy Prato (Mallamo's nephew) and Joey Naples. The Pittsburgh-Cleveland War lasted from 1976-1982 and Pittsburgh assumed total control over all rackets since the upper echelon of Cleveland were all being indicted for narcotics as well as the Danny Greene car bombing.

How many people went down for the Danny Greene Bombing/ War with him he killed a few of there people too didn't he?
