Saw a movie from the early 60s on Netflix Cop Haters.

Some one was killing cops.

Staring Robert Loggia others in the movie Vincent Gardenia and a youth gang leader the late great Jerry Orbach.

It had an interesting ending

Over the weekend I watched "Angel Heart" with Rourke and De Niro. That's as scary a movie as it gets for me.

Why did DeNiro rat? They never said in the movie that I remember. I think if he did rat his kids will kill him. The boy would rape his mother smile

I liked it quite a bit - not in Godfather range but definitely a strong recommend.

That said, there are various cuts of OUaTiA and the U.S. theaterical release is known for being disjointed. The version I have seen is Sergio Leone's director's cut and was very impressed with it. I cannot speak to other cuts other than their reputation.

Just saw Entourage. If you liked the show, including the final two seasons, it's worth watching. If you didn't, it's not.

I liked the TV show and was pleased with the movie. It does play like an extended episode, which I suppose is typical for crossovers.

Just saw the movie Jersey boys. I saw the play liked that. I thought the mivie's sounds was not that clear.

But I did notice something interesting. In the movie these guys robbed a safe. They managed to get it down the stairs some how. On of them pulls up in a car or something. They attached a pulley to the safe to lift it and take it away.

But the safe was too heavy and the front of the vehicle was pulled up off the ground. One of the jersey boys got caught and did 6 months.

When I was a kid in east Harlem a guy named horse from a Hun 8 street. Try to rob a safe from a key food store. It was a big safe right against the front window of the store. He steals a truck has a pulley on that crashes the truck throw the key food front window. He attaches the pulley to the safe and tries to lift the safe on to the truck. Same thing happens front of the truck goes off the ground. He gets caught I forget how much time he got.

Does anyone know if the story they told in the movie actually happened. The robbery in Harlem did actually happen.

The reason I ask in the 80s I got friendly with Joe Pesce and I am pretty sure I told him about the key food robbery. I am wondering whether he told that story to Eastwood and they decided to put it into the movie?

At the theater - saw Terminator - Genisys. Without getting into spoilers, felt that it tweaked too much with the original storyline. Do not recommend.

On HBO - finally saw John Wick. This was really surprisingly good. I generally don't like Keanu post-Matrix but this movie was redemptive for him. Not a subtle movie but if you are looking for an action flick and already have HBO, make sure you catch this one.

Fun note about ANT-MAN that opened in theaters this weekend. Former SNL cast member Garret Morris did a cameo as a car driver.

What's funny is when he was on SNL, the cast did a sketch about superheroes. (Murray=Superman, Belushi=Hulk, etc.) Who did Morris play? Ant-Man.

BET is airing "The Temptations", the Motown singing group. I am really enjoying it. I didn't know much about their lives, but it is interesting.

Lots of great music!!! Waiting to hear one of my Temp favorites, "Papa Was A Rolling Stone." smile

I taped the Cotton Club so I watched it for about 30 mins but just couldn't get through the entire movie. It had a great cast too plus it was directed by FFC. I didn't even recognize James Remar as Dutch Schultz. I love Remar, great actor. There was something lacking in this film. Anybody see it? Opinions?

I tend to agree. The overlapping story lines were distracting and it was a challenge for even the underworld erudite to follow the gangland history.

Just watched Walk the Line, the movie about Johnny Cash. I really do not have much knowledge of Cash; I've only watched one interview of him years ago but I pictured him as a force to be wreckoned with. In the movie, he came across as a very weak man. Is that really true? Maybe someone on here will know more about him.

The movie was entertaining. Acting was pretty good. Good storyline.

I think between the death of his brother and his strained relationship with his father broke him first and then the other haunting things.

I always considered Johnny Cash country/western tho....not really. confused Many of his songs were crossover to the R&R charts He is one who I really didn't mind listening too. I liked his deep voice.

Tho I don't have it, I do remember his Folsom Prison album was very popular. I did like Walk The Line and who can forget A Boy Named Sue. lol

Theater;
The Gift - Interesting. Not as scary as expected, more of a psych thriller. Good for what it was.
Mission Impossible - Exactly what you expect it to be; no more, no less.
Me and Earl and The Dying Girl - You have to be in the right mood for this type of movie. Nothing exceptional other than the film parodies.

Summary - No must sees or must avoids in this group.

Home;
The Drop - This was an excellent movie (and the type of movie those on these boards would easily get into). Will not spoil, but Tom Hardy is really growing on me. It's on the HBO circuit now and really worth making a point of seeing.

Addition to the post above;

Saw Trainwrecked last night. For a rom-com, it was an excellent movie, exceeded expectations and avoided most of the cliches of the genre. Strongly recommend.
