he's never going to have the respect he once had. and paul allen the hawks owner, can see this.

I think once the emotion from the game starts to subside, cooler heads will prevail. If Carroll were to be fired, I could easily see several teams who already have new/newer coaches clamoring to lure him.

What Carroll needs to do is stop insisting he would make the same call. Even non-football fans know he screwed up on the biggest possible stage. He needs to be a man and own his mistake.

That's right he took them to the big game twice. He should not be fired for a brain freeze at the end of the game.

But someone here said he made the sign for choking when his field goal kicker missed his field goal. That was a low thing to do for a coach. I wonder if he will dump that kicker before the start of the new season?

If he does then I say fuck him he should be fired if he does that.

Has the coach commented to the press about that bad call?

I don't disagree with you. He needs to man up and own the mistake. He will lose his players if he continues to defend this screwup. I do give him credit for not letting the O-Coordinator take the heat. But he should say "If I had to do it over, I would have called a running play and then a timeout if necessary."

Seahawks already have a ring under Carrol so the fallout from this isn't going to last long.

I turned the game off immediately after the interception and won't watch it or the sports talking heads speak about it but what I saw was pass interference..

the receiver was knocked back before the ball arrived, unless the rule book was changed....flag has to be thrown

carrol should have called play action pass...and if the db didn't bite, have russell throw it away...

good question. I imagine it's been around for a while, probably called something else years ago, I must admit I don't know.

Not sure if this is 100%, but It said that Hank Stram invented the famous play with Len Dawson as the QB. That's all I could find with a name.

yes, stramm was a great one, and Rodgers if he had both legs against the seahawks the packers would have won, he's a hall of famer.

All due respect, you're the only one I have read or heard about claiming pass interference. I've seen the replay multiple times from several angles. The DB jumped the route & Wilson threw it to the outside shoulder of the WR. The DB was in much better position to where the ball was thrown. It was much closer to the DB, who has equal right to the ball. The WR fell back after the collision for the ball and was not knocked away early.

I hope when Ben got some pussy while he was making that movie.

My Godfather Gabe made porno's he was married to my cousin Faye. He would let me and my brother try them out.

I loved going to his house in the summer. He had a big corner house in the Bronx. I was used to tenement life.

There was a guy in Goodfellas they showed him for a second. They called him Pete the Killer. He was Gabe's nephew. He was originally a Harlem boy as well.

foots--- I do believe you have seen it all. I like your stories, an old new Yorker like yourself has some good ones, you should write a book.

as a defender you can't run into me trying to catch a pass...

ball is in the air and you bump me,impede my progress or grab me it's a flag

you have right to make an attempt at a catch and i have a right to occupy the space i'm in

we've both seen flags called on similar plays

refs scared to make the call or worse

I did not watch it except that one time. I thought the defender was playing the ball and not the man. Either man the receiver or the defender has the right to play the ball.

A Lot of big name guys are up in free agency this year; could be a turning point for a lot of bubble teams. What do you guys think?

LaLou, I think you are right, and some teams are getting old. while Oakland, Miami, buffalo, Arizona, and st Louis are only going to get better.

seattle won't be as good next year. nor will dallas, or new England, Denver is cooked, as is Philadelphia.

I look for different champions in most divisions.
