i find this family interesting because they're not centralized in one city, but spread out throught 2-3 states. since Manocchio got taken down the "power" has been in Boston; the DiNunzio brothers (also locked up now), rumors of Peter Limone, and Spagnolo being labeled as Acting Boss in his recent indictment. Scott Bernstein, who had been more than credible as a mob reporter, posted an article on his Gangster Report site that speculates that the orders could be coming back from Providence now. http://gangsterreport.com/patriarcas-parillo-line-top-spot/Carmen DiNunzio is coming out of jail soon. My guess is that to unify and stengthhen whatever is left of the family, they'll split the admin between RI and MA with guys on the street in official spots. as far as younger guys and making new members, i posted this on another board... but i doubt they are lacking for recruits. sure kids dont grow up in the little italy of boston or on atwells avenue anymore and come up like the old timers did, but there are plenty of italian kids trying to make money the fast way, into drugs, steroids, scams, bookmaking...that would love to be made. you can say that about any city in the northeast. there are always tons of kids like that. maybe the quality isnt there compared to how the old timers were raise, but the quantity ...

first off, love the fact we are talking patrairca ...I always said this but rhode island has alot more than people think, I mentioned before the names, There are milisi, leone, ruggerio, brusselli, simonelli sawtelli and more that people never heard of. Second boston is quite different. tt120 said it right they might not grow up in north end or providence but there is many italians in medford, revere, saugus, everett, and the whole north shore of boston since many of the north enders moved to those areas and the same can be said for providence as they spread around the state and the nicer areas of providence. As far as rats go I know for sure that the young and the old mix but they dont. For example simone, spagnolo, ferrara, biago , quintina, gambale and even martorano to an extent, really dont deal with the younger guys for a few reasons but mainly the drugs. The other is to keep the "structure" tight. If deluca snd rossetti didnt fold, it be hard to say anything because beside a few informants whom we dont know, what are they giving up. I mean even do defend rosseti, he didnt give up any bodies or new schemes. I mean what indictment came out of him. Deluca gave up the dinunzio and mannochio strip club schemes. So to say the least, the informants is not really informing. But new buttons has been made because thats what I heard the last few months.

I think rhode island is at least 20 25 man strong. you have that fuchillio kid the kids I mentioned and few more like bonagfilia and trimanti and thats not counting the old timers. I know many providence guys came up one time like 15 or so for st anthonys and through a few mutual old timers no one knew who was who and it said most of the providene guys was all button. As for Boston they are adding up. From Buffalino, to prochilio, to the dinunzio kid, to nazzarro they are adding besides the ones we havent heard. Gigi was never made. No one in that war was made . They had a bunch of connected guys the whole war was connected to the life but made many was a far cry to many drugs was involved instead of the traditional schemes and if you did dabble in drugs like angelesco, you did around the traditional schemes not make drugs a primary income like the a domonican drug lord. Dinunzio dealt with the costas and gambale which in turned dealt with other made guys but he trusted them. The same goes for quintina and spagnolo whom deals with few other guys and in turn tell their peers. Bobby Carrozza deals with his boys and many younger guys and although is made and somewhat and upper guy he has his own regime of bunch of non made guys like the ones who supported him during the war. But I know him and ferrara are still tight. IMO the board is Limone, Biago and Ferrara....Then they give orders to spag, quintuna, vito deluca, martorano, whom holds alot of weight fyi, and few other guys who are upper who in turn to their trusted ones and so on. So basically there is protection and alot of secrecy amongst eachother. If you notice the past few indictments, its very few indivisuals and that saids alot. Its either you catch me doing my dirt or not and even if you was involved getting a piece if you didnt get caught your scott free like the spagnola case recently. im sure there where kick up and few other people collecting the doe but if you didnt get caught your ok.. its a smart strategy. The only soldiers whi I believe gets really involved with the higher ups is simone, dee dee lepore and tortora and thats because they are proven...

I know quite a few people from Boston and they seem to have an idea that OC is a lot more prevalent than fbi stats would indicate. I'm always hearing about the crowds of wiseguys and wannabes in the north end and the irish crews and Asian gangs all over. I wonder if they just have a picture of older boston in their heads or is the family growing more than fbi reports say

I'm always hearing about the crowds of wiseguys and wannabes in the north end and the irish crews and Asian gangs all over. I wonder if they just have a picture of older boston in their heads or is the family growing more than fbi reports say Like I said, there are waaay more young guys around than people know about or the FBI admits. There are two fractions, the old timers and the new guys. It's one reason Cheese and his brother were/are so important, they bridge that gap even though the old and new guys have little business interests together. I have friends and few family members that are out an about guys and there are plenty of guys that take numbers, sell drugs and run scams on the Northshore, Southshore and and from New Bedford to Providence. The days of hanging on the "Hill" and in the "North End" are long gone. I grew up SW of Boston about 15 miles and know for sure of one made guy there that owns a couple of semi-dumpy bars and runs football cards during the fall. His father was "connected" and now he is and I doubt anyone would ever mention his name.

The people I know are involved in club promotion and are generally big in the nightlife out there on a personal and business level. So when they say they see the guys hanging in the north end, I don't think they mean sitting outside in track suits sipping coffee. Again, I don't know how true it is since personal friends conflict so much with official stats but they sure as hell don't think there's only 20 or 30 guys running new england

While we're on a boston topic, how did the mob do in Boston during the big dig? With so much money out there for that project they must have been dying to get involved
