Just a question was there ever a kickstart campaign within the Philly family to have Scarfo clipped for his violence and high profile someone must have been sick of it Good question , I think that he was making sure that he did not get killed or other. This is when everyone calls him a maniac. If they understood Philly" and the two factions" back in the day, and that fact that two Bosses" just got killed" in front of him . This is why none of the other families thought it was that out of line. At the end he was getting out of line but Joe S just would not get the message. To me it seamed like one big insurance policy.... By two factions you mean sicilian and calabrian? I read that rugnetta was in the opposing faction to bruno, divided by ethnic lines and even tried to depose him once. And once rugnetta died Caponigro became the next faction leader.

How is a man from the greatest generation not a lose? I have enough empathy and understanding to know not everybody grew up like me. They dont make em like Little Nicky no more, and never will.
This isnt some idol to look up to. Like i said to you in a previosu post we all find mob history interesting BUT nobody respects or shall i say SHOULDNT respect these type of people. especially Nicky who was a psychopath So now you speak for everybody on the board? What gives you the right to decide what morals are acceptable? You have a point to what you are saying but if I had to guess I'd think a lot of people here would love to get involved in some sort of low level racket...It's exciting, why do you think wiseguys get into the life in the first place besides money? As far as respect goes, I think that depends on the individual.

If you feel being involved in criminal activity is fun thats your right i guess as fucked up as that is lol

I think crusher is right, only losers get in that life, look where they all end up.

The life is extremely interesting to read about and watch but extremely treacherous. Nothing good comes out of devoting your life to murderers con artists and thieves.

I think most of these guys in there 50's and up, grew up having nothing! Very poor so the life they chose made them $ as for the younger guys that I don't get! It's always about the money. A lot of the guys felt like they had no other options but the point of it is that it's still nooooo good.

Anyone know if he does live till 2033, can he definitely get out that year? OR, must his release be approved by a judge?
People in his family have lived long lives so he has half a chance to make it.
Just doesnt seem fair that Mortorano's son will never see light of day and Nicky just might. nicky scarfo will die in prison. he won't live to see daylight the old dog is 86 now. nobody will shed tears over scarfo. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/20/108-year-old-prisoner-freed_n_880568.htmlYou will see!.....He will get out at 102 years old, whack Merlino first, then purchase enough sticks of dynamite to erase Philly off the map......And then he will will re-name is Scarfodelphia, the city of erdication! The city of brotherly love needed a dress-up.

Pmac : Not after the late 60's as far as I know. The brothers were here often in the summer, and there family. I am not sure if they all got along ,cos you would see one brother and his family at a time.
The people that would come and go from Philly and NY would make your head spin. The apartment building was big and in the summer you had the family coming and going and not just one, this is way before Nick became boss.
I am talking 25 kids at a shot ,then the next week 25 more it was crazy and they were not the type to share exactly who was who.
But the uncles were great people and the whole family loved to have card games ,and thats were I go to speak to them.
Here is a piece of info Anthony (Tony Buck ) told me that I never here or herd since , is that Nicky and Bruno got made at the same time or the same year.He did not just say it out of the kindness of his hart. He was pissed at something said about Bruno .(I think even back then there was a little heat.
But as far as the Piccolos kids and grands being made I did not here that, and later when Phil got involved I did not see any of them around him. (and they would have)
The uncles would hang with Skinny D'Amato and the Cammarota's when they would come down in summer, Skinny had the 500 club here in Ducktown...
And like I said not after the late 60's cos before there were many and a bunch were made ,cousins and nephews .
The family is or was big ,they are also married into the Grande's and one or two other mob guys in Philly.(Big family)

Know one knows for sure ,but if Nick did not have Tommy Del ,and the Crow flip it may have been different.
It no doubt is on Nicky cos he should have seen the weakness in Tommy. The guy should have never been a hit man. He was a pig, and I did not know him, but I know and have talked to people, before and after the flip, people that knew him well. He was not good mob material from the start. He should of been a earner" and that's it.He loved to tell it" he was week ,and he was a horrible family man.
The Crow was a street guy his entire life ,from what I have been told. The guy was a con man from the start. In most cases the con man is just that . The guy should have never been a hit man and trusted with the inter working of the business. Nick should have never used him as a shooter . The guy was a con man and if con men get the edge on you .you are done. And this is exactly what the Crow did ,it was his last con....
If i am not forgetting too much that was the push that made Philip go over to the Feds. He knew that Nick sr. aloud those two guys to know Phil's business and his own.
I think I am not far off here without those two, it may have been a totally different twenty some years in Philly.
