I think he and Mario will share the responsibility short term. As I said earlier, Dean will probably get made when he gets out. But that's no guarantee. He's been around forever, he's pushing fifty, and he's still an associate. Because a) He can't stay out of jail, and b) he's a bit of a cowboy.

This is a kid who was still getting wired and busting up bars in Stamford when he was well into his thirties and married with a kid. And with the Sicilians running the show, they may just say fuck it and tell someone from Bensonhurst to get used to the idea of living in the suburbs. There are far worse things in life than living in Connecticut.

I think Dom misunderstood what PB meant when he said the Connecticut crew nearly got absorbed by the Bronx & Westchester, PB meant the Bronx/Westchester factions of the Gambino's, not the Westside.

The have nothing to do with it, so that's from out of left field. The Westside has traditionally run the white-collar rackets up there. Mainly garbage, trucking, and one of the few IBT Locals left with ties to LCN.

The Gambinos have always done the grittier and more blue collar work up there. Mainly bookmaking, shy, card games, and hint: something that more often than not comes up from South of the Border.

Now, of course, there's going to be some overlapping in what they do. But generally speaking, their rackets are apples and oranges. No one is gonna look to take anything that wasn't there's to begin with.

Uconn is far away from Stamford. Uconn Stamford is a commuter campus.

The main UConn campus is in Storrs which is about 1:50 from Stam. Closest city is Hartford. Surrounded by farms. I never saw much gambling up there.

I just don't know if CT can really be compared to say, Jersey.

The rich people live in the nice areas where there really aren't any "Italian communities."

I mean I've touched on this before. There are plenty of Italians. A bunch of my friends are Italian. But this isn't jersey with its Italian communities. It's all assimilated. People are friends based on what elementary school your kid went to. To clarify, I'm talking about the rich towns and whatnot. I'll defer to cheech on the New Haven area bc I'm sure he is the one to ask.

But darien, Westport, Fairfield, new Canaan, wilton, and so on... 99% of these guys would be scared shitless to be involved with a mobster. And most of these people would never bother dealing with these people. They are rich already.

And again I know some posters like PB would know more about connected guys up here, I am just speaking on the neighborhoods in general.
