Finally picked this up...

...I don't know what I was waiting for. Everything is beautiful; The coverart and packaging--although simple--is great in itself (the red slip at the bottom, with the characters on it removes itself). I like it much better than the old artwork on the one disk edition. I've only watched one of the commentaries, and have yet to watch the extended versions of "The Big Fat Kill" and "That Yellow Bastard!", but the rest of the features, for the most part, are excellent, and very informative. Some of the features on disk two can get draggy if you aren't in the mood, but are also very cool, and if you wish to learn more about the films production (like me) they are also very helpful. The two I found most interesting off disk two was the 14 interrupted minutes of Tarantino working with the actors, and putting together the scene he directed, and then the super-sped up version of the film without any effects... Just the actors, and a green screen. I watched the commentary Rodreguiz and Miller did together last night, and it only made me further appreciate the acting skills of the cast even more; it turns out there were several moments in which an actor was being shot all by themselves--due to the tight schedule and short notice they had to make casting calls (Rodreguiz says they started shooting about a week or two after he impressed Miller with his "test" that they pretty much used to wow the cast into joining the film).

I plan to watch the second commentary tonight; Robert Rodreguiz and Quentin Tarantino. Can't wait.

Yeah, I'm glad I finally got it... I've been pushing it off since december.

Although, I found it funny how the clerks at my local FYE (the over-priced, bull-shit existence of a store) wouldn't sell it to me due to the fact that I am still 16, but when I walked nextdoor, the people at Target were more than happy to hand it over for a signifigantly lower price.

For the record, I hate FYE... blah. I almost had to make due to them after learning that Suncoast (most amazing place ever) had been shut down. I suppose I'm going to be returning to my ways of amazon.com now.

Yeah I don't really like FYE either (they are expensive). I found the Suncost here to be pricey sometimes. I love amazon and BestBuy personally

Well, I always liked the Suncoast here, because the people have always been helpful (unlike most places, they knew alot about films). I also liked it because they were very nice there, knew me by name (but, again, I was in there several times a week), and I had a replay card which got me many discounts.

I'm going to miss it.

The FYE near me is actually a good store. I was surprised that they had Le Samourai when I got it a few months back.

Borders has an excellent selection, especially with films harder to get like foreign or older films, but they usually cost the top price aside several for $12 or $10.

Best Buy is my favorite, price-wise.

LLC, let us know what you thought about the QT & RR commentary on Sin City please. I saw the RR & FM commentary but never made it around to the other. Also, I enjoyed the features on the 2nd disk as well but I felt that they were too short (not that they dragged). I think most were like 10-15 minutes and that was it. Also, I love watching the stories seperately with the feature available on the 2nd disc

Yeah, I am excited about watching The Big Fat Kill and That Yellow Bastards in their extended forms.

But I want to listen to the other commentary first... Never got around to it last night, due to a flow of work, but it should happen tonight... Hopefully.

YAY! I'm glad I've been holding out on getting the DVD.

Any links to the announcement?

Walk The Line Release Date, Cover Art, ETC.

I'm most definitley getting the 2-disc edition. 1- Because I always like and want the best editions, and 2-the cover art on the 1-disc edition is terrible. The 2-Disc coverart is gorgeous.

Any links to the announcement?
I just bought the 2-pack with Fast Times At Ridgemont High. Oh well, I guess I'll own both editions. Here's the link . Go to the 2/13 "Daily Column" and go about halfway down. You should see Dazed and Confused in bold print

I just recently got into this show. Undoubtedly one of the best shows on television. Hugh Laurie definitely deserved the Golden Globe he won. I highly recommend this show to everybody.

Hey, Irish, how is The Weatherman ? I've been wanting to see it for some time now... I might go rent it tonight, or something.

The Weather Man ***

I can sum this movie up in 1 word: hilarious. I couldn't believe how much humor was in this movie. I didn't know what to expect as I had no idea what this movie was about. It's good to see Nicholas Cage back with this movie and the recently released Lord of War.

Sounds promising enough. And the trailers and clips I've seen we're all excellent... Yeah, I think I'll pick this up later tonight.
