Yea but BBM was recently released wasn't it? And the Oscars were just last month. I'm just surprised, considering it was an oscar contender that it hit the video circuit this soon. I always found that's a sign that a movie didn't do well financially anyway. Although many movies I guess are praised by the critics and don't do well at the theaters. Some even do better on video than they did in the theater. TIS

Who else feels a new special edition of Taxi Driver is long over-due?
"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

I'm not unhappy with the current edition. The documentary is very cool, as is the fact that you can jump to the script at any point in the film. I don't know, I'm just kind of dying for some kind of collecter's release of sorts. Especially with the films 30th anniversery on the way, it's be cool if they put together some sort of set or cool features like the Scarface release three years ago (wow, that was three years? I can still remember the day I recieved it in the mail.)

I like how they slap Tarantino's name right up on the top of the box, in bold print. It seems like that's the only way for studios to sell movies now... I remember the first time I saw the very early tv spot for Sin City, they said his name loud and clear, but Robert Rodreguiz's name only came up in very fine print, at the end, on the credits and specifications.

I thought this bit of news might interest some here. I'll probably pick it up myself "Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Double Indemnity (Special Edition) for 29th August 2006 priced at $26.98 SRP. This two-disc special edition is released as part of the Universal Legacy Series. Features are TBC." Source: DVD Times
