Toodoped: Word. Few days ago, over here, they caught one teenager with a gun and more than 60 bullets, while going to school. I wonder what was his plan ?!

First version (with the string orchestrate) Sid sang, Steve Jones plays guitar. So half of the pistols, lol. Originally on The Great Rock n Roll Swindle.
Later another version was on Sid Sings (the version without the strings). No other Pistols on that version.
The pistols also do a good cover of Stepping Stone by the Monkees, which is sort of funny because they were like the Monkees of punk. Sort of fake, prefab, some couldn't play instruments.

Chris Cornell - Billie Jean (originally by Michael Jackson).
Even Michael Jackson preferred this version to his original. I think it better conveys the heaviness of the subject matter. Plus Chris Cornell is one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time.

The Pistols where 100 percent real and i think it was only Sid who couldn't play as he was off his head most of the time,, The Pistols are probably Britain most important Band after The Beatles, pity they only recorded one album together but there impact was incredible, but they had shit management..

They had brilliant management, for his interests (Malcolm's)anyway, for them not so much. He was a brilliant marketer.I don't think I'd rate them as high as you do in the musical pantheon, but I like them.
Siouxsie Sioux is a close friend of my family, ive known her since i was a young kid, and she can tell some interesting Sid stories, especially when she's had a couple of cocktails. She'll have you wetting your pants with laughter.

In the UK,apart from maybe Led Zeppelin there hasn't been a more influential band than The Sex Pistols apart from the Beatles and that is a fact. Without them i dread to think what the UK would be like it they never got together.. The UK was a gloomy place led by Maggie Thatcher and they gave kids hope who had no future after they left School.. They revolutionized music..

I hope the Aussies on here see this... ACDC , Baby please don't go...I read Bon Scott had 2 bottles of JD and then went on stage and did this for a bet..
Just heard a Grateful Dead cover but The Black Crowes definitely own this song
Chris Cornell's cover of Billie Jean is pretty good
Dude, I listened to Chris Cornell's version three times but all three times I just couldn't bring myself to like it. And I love his voice but have to say that I like MJ's version better. (I did enjoy watching Chris sing though MEOW)
Hey Joe and All Along the Watchtower are definitely better than the originals imo. I want to add Come On Let the Good Times Roll too but I'm not so sure it can beat out the original by Earl King. But it's very close! Such a good song I'm going to post the link https://youtu.be/-7Qii0Qep5Y

Chris Cornell is no Michael Jackson and I agree MJ's version is better
Dylan even admitted Hendrix owned All Along the Watchtower, Dave Matthews Bands does a good cover but nothing compares to Jimi Hendrix. I never heard Earl King's original, thanks I love finding out about music and artist I never knew before
I am glad you enjoyed watching him lol here is another Chris Cornell cover with his time as lead singer of Audioslave doing White Stripes Seven Nation Army

Thanks for posting the link. You know what song Chris Cornell NAILED, "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley. I've never heard his version until today Here is the link https://youtu.be/9vmv6BUyESg and his version of Zeppelin's song "Thank You" was pretty good too.

"I who have nothing"performed by Ben E King and a thousand others after him including Sir tom Jones.
But imo no version is better than the original Italian version. When a man can roll his r's and sing with that passion, ooo la la la, it does something to a woman, gives her goosebumps and it speaks to her soul!
You wanna laugh, I saw Van Morrison pretty recently and Sir Tom Jones made a special appearance. He still sounds good for his age. Take a listen. I recorded part of the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cux69uXetr8

You saw Van Morrison live? I have heard he is amazing performer he is in my top 5 favorite artist
I've seen him numerous times. What he is is a famously inconsistent performer (you can read about it going back to the 70's). If he's in the right mood you'll see an incredible show, if not you'll be sorely disappointed. He's like Dylan that way.

Ivy, Good version of it better than GNR (not a fan)
Helen, Gotcha I have a bunch of his live shows on cd really like them. I've been lucky enough to see Dylan a few times I always think his shows are great because he is my favorite artist of all time but I can see why people would not like him live

Yes, back in January. Do you live here in Cali? I can't remember. If you do, he's playing the Hollywood Bowl in October. I noticed he's playing in SF and NY too.
I'd have to agree with what Helen said. He put on a pretty good concert but his singing could be better so just drink as much booze as he does and he will sound great That's what worked for me

Well that is awesome, well I have been known to booze it up ay shows so I don't think I would have a problem with that. Though Wednesday I was at a show in Saratoga and dtank only water had to do the responsible thing because I brought my brother, still had fun though
I am in Upstate NY luckily I have family in LA and down state so I have options.
