I think he beats a lot of the charges. I can't see him convicted of any other the charges just cause he excepts money they kick up.

Moe I'm not from Staten Island. I'm a north jersey guy from paterson. One of the most Dangerous places on the east coast. I'm Italian American and growing up in a place where the population is mostly black, Latino, and arabic. Don't get me wrong moe because I usually enjoy your contributions to this site. You are not wrong, I see so many post that make it clear, a lot of guys don't really understand the streets. Like they read n know a lot about the mob, but don't really get the streets or what motivates a criminal. Not a knock on them, but it affects how they view things sometimes...

I agree with you that a lot of people are hypocritical, if we are all being honest, than we have to admit that a lot of us are kind of enamored with some aspects of The Life. These mob movies like Goodfellas, Godfather, Casino and Donnie Brasco wouldn't be so popular if a good amount of the population wasn't fascinated by the mob..

I have a lot of respect for the troops and I love and respect anyone who is willing to die for western values. There is no job tougher than being in a war. However, that doesn't mean it's easy to be part of the street life. I hate comparing the two, but I tend to think it's a lot more difficult to kill your best friend than killing some no name terrorist scumbag everyone hates. Do you honestly believe that a guy like Sonny Franzese is weak? Or John Gotti?

A good argument can be made that guys like Sonny or JG are/were weak sure.

These guys took the easy way out. Robbing, theiving, extorting etc. It's hard to work a legit job, starting at the bottom, manual labour year after year, cold weather trying to work your way up, minimum wage etc etc.
It's a lot easier to pick up a gun to get your money.

I guarantee a lot of the guys who say this and that person wasn't tough, are strictly researchers and haven't actually been in the street. Not just the mob, but in the streets in a criminal atmosphere , period. Its nothing cool about being a thug or a gangster, but everyone serves their purpose. Not every street guy is a killer or a tough guy, some guys are respected for their street smarts simply, and ability to plan ahead, and they get by and move up based off that ability alone. At the same time those kinds of guys have probably experienced more hardships and fucked up shit than the average citizen can dream of.
