Every single movie Di Caprio makes is Oscar bait.
Does the guy have any artistic integrity? Couldn't disagree more. Oscar bait movies to me usually end up being boring and forgettable. Everything DiCaprio has been in lately has been pretty great. At least his last 3-4 movies and the movies that he's slated to play in look like they have the potential to be great as well. He just picks great movies to be in with great directors I don't see how that's picking Oscar bait movies. Eddie redmayne's last two movies have been Oscar bait. Not DiCaprio's. Wolf of Wall Street and the revenant both have not exactly been universally loved by critics when they probably should've been because they are amazing in their own ways in my opinion. Honestly i've used the phrase quite a few times myself but i am now starting to hate it. Whenever i used it i was speaking of very specific types of roles/movies that the Academy seems to eat up, like disability or homosexual roles. It doesn't mean any movie/role that will do well at the Oscars. As you said Leo seems to like to work with the best directors in Hollywood instead of going for mindless blockbusters which shows alot of artistic integrity if you ask me. Not sure what Moe expects from him, should he be in the next Marvel Movie or what Moe? I'm not even the biggest Leo fan but fucking hell of all people to call out for that in Hollywood, you picked him . Whurs da action moovies Leo

Best of the Best(1989). 7/10 - Probably one of my favorite martial arts movies from the 80s. Pity that Phillip Rhee didn't make more movies, him and his brother are very good martial artists. Although theres 3 other movies in the Best of the Best franchise. All pretty decent films, if you enjoyed the first and second or martial art movies. The second might even be better than the first to be honest. Great soundtrack too. Something So Strong by Jim Capaldi - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpawaPWO4SE

Batman(1989) One of my favorite movies, Jack Nicholson was the best Joker. Good to see someone else recognizes that. I would argue that Mark Hamill's interpretation of the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, and the ARKHAM video games, is the best Joker.

I think Heath Ledger was the best joker by far. I am not even a Batman fan but loved "The Dark Knight." He made the movie IMHO. I can never resist tuning in to bits/pieces of it every time it's on just to see scenes with him. TIS

Somethin' that shouldn't have happened. Give me your piece, Dave. What? Give me the fuckin' gun. Since when are you a tough guy? Get yourself killed.
I can take care of myself. You think I'm some law school schmuck, I never saw a bad guy before?
You are gonna wave that thing at the wrong guy......he's gonna take it from you and bury it up your ass, guaranteed. Now give me the gun. Come on.

Saw The Witch.
Its really not like any horror film I can think of. It's very original and I can see why it won best picture at Sundance. Seemed like the theater was sort of speechless after it ended.
It's not so much scary as just really creepy and unsettling. There are no cheap "jump scares." Much of it is the haunting atmosphere of the movie with a few gruesome scenes. Everything is very authentic to the time period. The actors all do a great job, including the kids.
It's more about the family itself, with the witch as a backdrop. And how things happen that she uses to afflict them and tear the family apart. It's definitely a "dark" film and good certainly does not win at the end of this one. And it's really not the witch who is ultimately behind it all but someone higher up (or lower down) the ladder. When he makes his as appearance, and how he does it, is one of the more unsettling parts of the movie.
Great movie but not one I'd want to own and not for everyone. It's one of those films you either "get" or you dont. Good call! This is a phenominal movie. I can't say any more than what you've already posted without getting into spoilers, and I would hate to spoil the experience for anyone. This is a Must See on the Screen, even for those not predisposed towards traditional horror fare.
