BMX legend Dave Mirra died from a self inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 41. He won a lot of medals, and acclaim from his X Games performances.

I personally have to wonder if CTE will play into this like the deaths of Junior Seau and Dave Duerson.

I missed this probably due to all of our local media focusing on the hoopla surrounding the Superbowl. I remember him from Quick Change and Get a Life. That is a talented family for sure - three generations of funny. RIP.

Looks like it might finally be the end for Zsa Zsa Gabor. Being rushed to the hospital yesterday (two days after her 99th birthday) due to breathing problems, and will undergo surgery to take her feeding tube out.

I do feel bad for her, living in that way for years. Hopefully, she is not in pain or agony. Especially since her only daughter passed just last year.

Awful news about Dave Mirra

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia joins the list. He was 79.

The first Paisan on the Court, I did disagree with a couple of his opinions in particular. You New Yorkers should note that he was from Queens(Ginsberg is from Brooklyn).

His strict construction interpretation of the Constitution reminds me of Robert Bork who President Reagan also nominated, but who withdrew from the nomination. Scalia was a little too verbose for me when it came to his commenting on the Court's majority opinions when he dissented. The justices should not do that. Nevertheless, jurists will note his contributions to jurisprudence as important.

She had some fierce battles with demons.

Oh yea, I remember her, tho I haven't seen her in years. Wow, she was young. RIP

She was absolutely gorgeous and still looked amazing even after her health declined. She turned her life around and became an amazing woman on the inside as well as the outside. (And yes, when I was young I used to have her poster on my wall :-)

George Gaynes, the actor best known for his portrayal of the head of the police academy in the "Police Academy" movies has died. He was 98 years old.

His death was an "exclusive" for me in the contest.

Harper Lee, the author of "To Kill a Mockingbird" has died at age 89.

Both BAM and I had Ms. Lee on our lists.

RIP to a great lady, who helped to shape a lot of our childhoods with one novel.

A couple of baseball players: Tony Phillips, 57, who was one of the most versatile players ever and reached his peak in the early 90s with the Detroit Tigers, and; Jim Davenport, 82, third baseman of the powerful San Francisco Giants teams of the early 60s.

Wonder how many are still left from that powerful Giants team's? I know that Mays, McCovey, and Gaylord Perry are still around.

Abdul Rashid Khan, a Hindustani singer and musician died on February 16th. He was 107 years old.

I had him on my list and it was an exclusive for me.
