I've noticed a lot of Jersey restaurants are BYO. Why is that?

Liquor licenses are extremely expensive, heavily regulated (only certain # allowed based upon population) and politically connected/corrupt. It's rediculous, but I actually prefer bringing my own good Italian red wine to a nice Italian restaurant and not paying the rediculous mark up on the bottle. Nothing like showing up with yourself, a broad, and three bottles of wine from home straight to the face!!

Plus we have all those great pizzerias/Italian joints in Jersey u can bring your own wine too, I see it as a plus!

It is a plus, but the food prices are marked up to help with the difference I've noticed. Jersey is the worst. Just kidding lol

What did you get there? I had the seafood pasta (close resemblance to zuppa di Pesce) dish when I went there and it was amazing...
The Sausage "meatballs",very nice, & the wife had the linguini & clams, very fresh,very clean w/a little kick to it just the way she likes it.

I didn't want to leave blood on your carpet...
