I am just totally shocked. Only 57. Last week they reported he was in hospital for about 3 hours and released. I assumed it was a flu bug or something.
I don't know all his albums but am familiar with his hit songs, and there's a string of them. I'm so sorry to hear this. Gosh, David Bowie, Glenn Frye and now Prince. A big loss to the music world.
FWIW, my favorite Prince song is "When Doves Cry."

I am really shocked to hear that Prince did not have a will (at least none as been found yet.) You'd think he'd have legal advisors. Anyway, he has no children, but I believe 6 siblings/half siblings. From what I hear most are estranged BUT in the case of no children, they say they are likely to divide inheritance among siblings.
I heard this morning on the radio that comedian, Goerge Lopez gave family $20,000 because the didn't have enough money to cover expenses (his bills, funeral, etc.)
To add to matters it also was reported that a good number of people have called (whoever you'd call???) claiming to be a love child of Prince. I smell a real mess, unless they find a will. So sad!!!!
They said his fortune is about 300 million BUT also there was a vault of many songs he wrote that were not recorded yet.
Tho, I was never a huge fan, nor do I have all his music but I like him. I am most familiar with his many hit songs, yet for some reasons I am really saddened to hear of Prince's death.

Did you see this version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"(one of my favorite Beatle songs) With Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, etc? Excellent guitar work by Prince toward end, especially.
Btw, the young guy is George Harrison's son, which you probably know.

yes the leeches, parasites and bloodsuckers have come out of the woodworks for Prince's money.
Since he was cremated, I don't know if they can do any kind of posthumous DNA test to prove he was anybody's father....so hopeful the leeches crawl back into the holes they were hiding in.
Unfortunately I've witnessed this in real life...and I've also witnessed the flipside where a person dies broke and because of that.....even close family can't bother to even attend funeral services.

TIS, it makes me feel old now when someone remarks that it was a really big deal to still be alive after being born in the 19th century. My own grandparents were born then, and yes, they always seemed old to me, but I remember as a kid when I'd hear on the news that Civil War soldiers were still alive.

I got my grandkids a DVD of Mr. Ed. They laugh at the theme song, (remember "A Horse Is A Horse Of Course")....because the video get stuck on keeps repeated that line. Got to be a joke.
Anyway, if I recall that was on Sunday evenings? Didn't watch all the time I do remember it.
