Has anybody in American LCN been shot by LE? That or shot a police officer ?

A member of Spilotro crew in Vegas was shot because the cops thinked that the man had a gun while was only a sandwich.

There's Gus Farace, killed a DEA agent but the agent was undercover so I don't know if that counts.

Always heard that back in the old days they whacked out plenty of cops though.

Killed in Sicily, but while on assignment for his department so I don't know if that meets the criteria.

See the movie Pay or Die it is about his life. Stars Earnest Borgnine I remember that movie as being real good. I think I have it on DVD somewhere.

On April 1, 1924, Torrio gang members Frank Capone and Charles Fischetti had a quarrel with the police which resulted with the death of Capone.

On April 4, 1927, North Side gangster Vincent Drucci was also killed by the cops while being arrested.

December 13, 1925, William “Three Fingered Jack” White shot and killed Policeman Edward Pflaume of Forest Park. White was a close associate to the Capone mob and later the Outfit.

In 1923, Joe Montana murdered Detective Lawrence E. Harnett during a liquor raid. Montana worked for his father Joe Sr. and also for Diamond Joe Esposito.

On June 13, 1925, Mike “The Devil” Genna was killed by the cops because of a previous shootout. Mike and two of his associates were in a shootout with the Northsiders and killed two police officers during the process. Story goes that the cops managed to shoot Genna in the leg, while badly wounding him and later he died in an ambulance after he kicked an officer in the face who tried to question him

On December 31, 1931, Sam "Teets" Battaglia and George Busk shot police detective Martin Joyce and patrolman John Maier

Carmine Galante was arrested for killing a cop but released due to lacknof evidence. He was later convicted of shooting another cop during a botched robbery

Yes but its based on a real life fact (I cant find the real name) and Spilotro even asked Chicago the ok to kill the cops.

In 1979 a Lincoln with Illinois license plates pulled into the Upper Crust pizza place in Las Vegas where Tony Spilotro hung out. Police doing surveillance on Spilotro noticed him go in an talk to Spilotro. They decided to follow him to see who he was and eventually pulled him over for speeding. The cops identified themselves, but the guy tried to get out his car with a gun pointing at them so they shot him.

The guy killed was "Frank Bluestein, a 35-year-old waiter at the Hacienda Hotel and Casino, one of the properties controlled by the Chicago Outfit. His father, Steve Bluestein, was an official in the local Culinary Union and had been the subject of a 1978 search warrant as part of the FBI investigation of Tony Spilotro"

The cops later received information that Spilotro had put a contract on their life.
