The attack yesterday could have been prevented with better planned security. Not interning Muslims into camps...simply a better organized security plan for an event attracting thousands of people, one that wouldn't have allowed an unidentified giant rig that could practically be seen from Mars drive right onto the promenade. With that kind of security breech, either an Isis-inspired jihadist, or basically any crazy asshole with a truck, could kill scores of people.

France authority should have contacted you. If only they had look at all the lives would have been saved.

9/11 could have been prevented with better coordination between the intel community and law enforcement's boots on the ground, not to mention a president that actually took some kind of action in response to the memos released beforehand. CIA made it clear it was going to happen any day. Bush was more concerned with business deregulation or something. Terrorism is preventable on many levels. Sadly, the world's leaders, including this nation, can't get beyond using blanketed bigotry as a strategy.

Once again to correct misinformation being spread by keyboard warriors, prior to 9/11 the FBI and CIA were prevented from coordinating intel by a memo sent by Jamie Gorelick, who was a Deputy Attorney General during the Clinton administration. This hamstrung the agencies ability to gather intel (ridiculously, Gorelick was later appointed to be on the 9/11 Commission, and of course she never implicated herself). Moreover, Michael Morell, the former Acting CIA Director, confirmed that during the early months of the Bush administration there was chatter of an impending terrorist attack, but it had no specifics. Basically it said that somewhere in the United States at some unspecified date and time. Morell said that with information like that, and following the rules set up by President Bill Clinton, there was nothing Bush could have done. Neither he nor anyone in his administration had special psychic powers that would allow them to know what the investigative agencies didn't.
