Still no Oak, huh? What a gutless wonder. I guess it's not surprising. 90% of his posts were in this section proclaiming Hillary's inevitable win and other liberal BS. Besides not wanting to eat crow, he has no purpose on the board now. Oak is on vacation for flaming others. And Ivy, I'm sick and tired of you bad-mouthing others here. You're on a thin thread here. I'd ask you to apologize to Oak for those words above but I know you're not man enough to make an apology. You were in this same situation a few years back with another member and you refused to apologize. You were suspended for a short time and swore you'd never return yet here you are still flaming anyone with a different agenda than yours. This is a final warning to stop this shit.

Unions actually thought trump would help them.
Especially the PBA I think a lot of people voter against the extremely far left idealogy that in recent years has been jammed down peoples throat. Middle class America is tired of being treated like crap so they votes for Trump to say f you to the establishment. Just my opinion

I'd apologize if I had something to apologize for. But I don't. And when did I ever swear to not come back? And why am I talking to a guy, in a political thread, who thinks the only reason people were critical of Obama is because they're racist? I'm sure you're still pissed about the election, SC, but don't take it out on me.

I'd apologize if I had something to apologize for. But I don't. You have a lot to apologize for. You just don't get it, do ya? You flame anyone who has a different agenda than yours. You are a disruptive force here. You were given plenty of warnings about the flaming remarks but you always chose to ignore them. You are gone.

The electoral college is designed to have two functions. First, is that it was supposed to be a group of enlightened people that would provide a check on the mob to prevent a demagogue from being elected. This is simply a failure. The US Constitution didn't properly anticipate the inevitable rise of political parties. Outside of slavery, this is its key defect. Electoral college voters are selected for party loyalty and will vote for (by law in a bunch of states) their party leader who won the state. It is simply a rubber stamp and you could entirely do away with the human element and make it about numbers.
Second, the electoral college is designed to be a federalist attempt to balance proportional representation with local self-determination. Small states get outsized power over larger ones by design in order to allow them to protect their interests. We're just at a unique cross-roads where political parties have sorted by population density and one party is now using this advantage to dominate the other. It doesn't help that this party has gone crazy.
I favor an electoral college system, but the arbitrary math behind it has gotten very out of whack. As the country gets unequally larger and larger, the voting power disparities become greater and greater. In an ideal world, we'd come up with a better mathematical solution

Why would i need to? I understand the EC without help from Prager U. If i want a 5 minute university I'll enroll at Father Guido Sarducci's.

He always said he wasn't going to cut SS and Medicare. I don't get why LGBQ people are flipping out either. You finally got a republican president that isn't a conservative. Not on economics, not on social issues except abortion. He ran to the Left of Hillary on foreign policy... and people are scared..I guess it's the media's fault.
The only people that should maybe be worried is illegal immigrants and even that's something he's softened on. This country has gotten so dramatic.
Actually one of the reasons I don't support him is because he's for big government. He's likely to add to the growing debt and not solve our real problems.

Funny enough since the election results my cousin has been suffering from rage crying? All I can do OS shake my head. Word is she won't speak to me or my family (which is fine since we haven't spoken in 2 years) not because we voted for Trump but because we didn't vote for Hilary voted third party. All I can say is grow up, he probably won't change your life that much Crying like a toddler won't change things, people must learn to respect democracy. It chilled me to the bones to watch tv and see packs of degenerates riot in the streets over the result.

Call me crazy, but does anyone else think that Trump is going to pull an Earl Warren? that's funny, and I think you could be right, I would love to see paul ryan's and mitch Mconnel's faces when he does that, shoot down ryan's budget, ignore ted cruz, keep Obama care but make it work for the good of everyone. shore up social security and medicare, remember he always was a democrat !!!

He's already moving to the center on Obamacare. The tea party types can't be happy about that. Day one and they already heard something they didn't want to hear. Watch the right call for Trump's impeachment before he's even inaugurated. yeah, oak, they will hate him as much as Hillary, and the dems will never let him be impeached, hope he gets two terms now, and lets the far right twist in the wind. they deserve it !!

Don't make me have to pull up youtubes of Republicans crying and saying cray things when McCain and Romney lost. Anyhow, this is relevant. Yeah, I remember when the Republicans were rioting in the streets of major cities across the country after McCain lost in 2008 and Romney in 2012. Burning flags, vandalizing property, chanting "F___ Obama!", assaulting people...oh, wait, that never happened.
