Both hits must be the most photographed and well known in mob history , possibly along with the pics of castellano lying dead outside sparks

Galante wasn't even viewed/recognized as a boss of the Bonanno family..he was just sticking his chest out while Rastelli was in the can...his days were always numbered from the second he got of prison in '74. He was a psychopathic loud mouth that not even his own zips could tolerate. Even the church wouldn't bury the sob.

The man died aged 69, on top of his game and with an almost (if not) instantaneous death. For all the negativity surrounding him, the family fell apart from infighting in the immediate aftermath of his assassination, Rastelli was close to senility and would die not long after and his successor Massino would go on to become first bonafide boss to rat. I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.

Should of kept Carmine alive if you ask me. I'm sure lots of the family felt the same way but the boss is the boss is the boss as Neil would say .

I made a mistake in saying that Anastasia was the first mob boss to be killed in the New York area since the Castellammare War, but Mangano was losing allies fast around the country after WW2, where Albert still had some powerful allies around the nation at the time of his death. The Galante hit was pretty famous though. But the Anastasia hit is far more famous still.
