I was a bit shocked that he was crying too, but everybody will react to being humiliated and emasculated differently. In a different article, they said the cops were beating on him until he screamed and asked others in the store to record the cops beating on a man who wasn't resisting. Then they stopped.

I tried to look up the picture of the actual guy who was arrested for shoplifting. The former C.O. said that the guy was about 100 pounds heavier.

I expected some of the C.O.'s former colleagues/co workers of all races/backgrounds to be standing behind him in support, because right is right and wrong is wrong, but I'd never hold my breath waiting for that.


Interesting, a shoplifting suspect gets taken down/beaten up while not resisting.
Armed suspect who shot up a church gets taken in without a scratch and cops even buy him food from Burger King.

This is insane. If this did happen, I hope he is awarded a lot of money and buy one of those big estates in Garden City. Lets see what the camera video and witnesses statements reveal. Not sure about crime association,but I do know that WesternBeef is the FILTHIEST supermarket I've ever stepped foot in.

I went to one in East Orange that wasn't so bad but I went into one in Washington Heights or the Bronx(I forget) years ago and I wouldn't even eat the "canned goods" from that place.

Also, I believe that the press conference was from Dec. 2. Law enforcement will leak the tape within 2 weeks,if it doesn't support what Mr. Lanier is saying. If the store video corroborates his story, we won't see it for months or years. If the video is "lost" or "erased", well we can draw our own conclusions.

The attorney needs to get a subpoena for that video, so if it does end up getting damaged, erased or missing they will pay a legal penalty. Hopefully some people did record the incident with their cell phones.

I know there is a lot of abuse by CO's, but we can't paint all of them with that brush. For all we know this guy could have been a decent and honest CO. Plus the way they have cameras and snitches in prisons, it's not as easy to get away with being abusive as it was in the past. Yeah, we'll also see if the incident report/police report filed by the 3 cops matches what the store video shows.
I'm also thinking that the ones who recorded the latter part of the incident(after he screamed for bystanders to record cops beating on a guy who was complying) are holding on to the footage and not posting it online like kids would do.
