Deebee was a Captain but really had no crew, a lone wolf who raked in millions with smut. I cant remember who whispered in Gottis ear that deebee was trash talking him Angelo or the Bull but before he was whacked either Sammy or Angelo Ruggiero borrowed big money from him...Debt forgiven. a move from the Casso playbook.

no chance that's happening you think a) anyone would believe gravano testimony after all that's happened b) he would want to testify I mean he has been inside for nearly 20 years he has no reason to help them

johnny carneglia will get released in 2018 with gene

Yea Sammy would be proven untrustworthy in front of a jury now, no way he could help anyone.

There is ample evidence of this.

The Bergin crew pulled in quite a bit of money from their JFK highjackings, this is fact. Gene Gotti, Angelo Ruggiero , Mark Reiter, Salvatore Ruggiero were major heroin traffickers and also made quite a bit of money from it, also all were Gotti confidants, this is fact. Reiter & Sal Ruggiero were multi-millionaires from their drug proceedings, this is fact. Construction was NEVER one of Gotti's rackets, Gravano was the construction guy, this is fact.

What do all those people have to do with the fact John Gotti is an illiterate moron?

And I never said construction was one of Gotti's rackets. That's the point.

He was a glorified drug peddler.

No different from thousands of inner city teenagers all over the country.

They don't have legions of morons looking up to them because of movies, books and reality shows though.

Yet he's never been convicted of drug trafficking, or even charged. Which in itself disputes your claim of him being an "illiterate moron". If he was simply a "glorified drug peddler" , yet never convicted of any drug crimes, let alone charged, that would take some real smarts to insulate himself to the point of him NEVER being charged of a drug crime. Not even Vito Genovese was capable of that...And those people have to do with it simply because of the fact that majority of these crimes were committed under Gotti's supervision, when he was running the Bergin crew for Fatico.

The fact that his reign as boss was so short and the fact he spent so little time on the street as boss speaks to how much of a moron he is.

The amount of times he went on trial.

Not being convicted of being a drug peddler during his Bergin days speaks to how low profile he was and how loyal his friends were.

It doesn't speak to how much of a moron he isn't.

Thanks for the pics Moe. I thought John Morrissey was actually a young black guy for a second there!

As far as Gotti goes, from what I've read, he did have some smarts, but also had a huge ego.

Lol, Morrisey is the guy next to Savino right? I do wonder what that black dude is doing in front of THAT hangout on THAT payphone though. From what I've read, mob guys did place dibs on pay phones in the vicinity of their hangouts, so that guy may have had permission to use that pay phone. Maybe he was placing his bets, dont think he was an associate. Could've been.

Old man Joe Paruta,a close ally & sort of mentor to Sammy, did the job on deebee, then when the old man was on his deathbed, they inducted him in a private ceremony as a last wish.

moe - cool pics, appreciate you taking the time to post. As i told you privately, you def are an asset to the boards if u and Sinatra can knock off the goofy shit back and forth

Anyways, the pic of Gotti meeting with the Providence guys is very cool, never seen that. Do you or anyone else know what happened at that meeting visa vi if it was ever revealed in an indictment or wiretap? which one is Matty Guglielmetti? So he musta been a big time capo even then in what 87 meeting with the boss of the Gambinos.

That Richichi guy is fascinating to me too..One of those old school gambino skippers that not much is known about who started as a skipper what with late Anastasia/early Gambinos reign and ended with Gotti?

DeeBee was hit in Sammy's office on Stillwell Ave, not a social club, and to my best knowledge Joseph Paruta did the hit. I think you're mixing up the hit on Milito which happened at a bar and John Carneglia was the shooter. Carneglia and Gene Gotti went away for 50 years on the heroin charge before Sammy flipped. To my knowledge, they weren't directly impacted nor did Sammy do them any damage from the stand.

Milito was a true wiseguy unlike Gravano. The bull only pulled the trigger once, he didn't have the stomach for it. On most of the hits he was part of he designated Milito as the trigger man because Milito was a stone cold gangster, unlike Gravano.

Nice pic, he looks relatively healthy for a guy his age. Maybe there is some truth to the possibility of him being the boss of the DeCalvacante's.

Uncle Junior in the Sopranos is partly based on Majuri.

"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea

Where'd you read this at?

Speaking of the DeCalvacante's one of my three books that I ordered on the Jersey Mob, is shipping to my house right now, should be here later on today. It's Made Men, by Greg B Smith. Looking forward to learning so much more about the DeCalvacante's.

Sinatra I found this article on The Soprano Wiki:

http://sopranos.wikia.com/wiki/Corrado_John_Soprano,_Jr.

"Real Life Basis

The Junior Soprano character may have been loosely based on the real life presumed boss of the Gambino crime family, Peter Gotti, and DeCavalcante Crime Family "made men" Joseph Sodano and Joseph Giacobbe with similarities in look, thick & large glasses, age, inheritance of the leadership from his nephew, John A. Gotti, and his relationship with longtime girlfriend Marjorie Alexander."
