The police and judiciary are looking for Rotterdam druglord Cetin Gören. The Prosecutor believes he cut through his ankle monitor and went into hiding. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison in December last year.
Gören was the leader of a gang that smuggled a total of 16 thousand kilograms of cocaine from South America to Europe. Before his arrest he was on Interpol's most wanted list.

Last Saturday police in Aalsmeer arrested an Italian who was apparently hiding in the Netherlands. The Sicilian Calogero Nicosia (48) was sentenced in absentia to 20 years in prison by a court in Ravenna for international cocaine trade. He was arrested by chance. Agents checked an older vehicle in the systems. This proved to be the name of the internationally identified Nicosia.

Johan van Boxtel was found shot dead Sunday morning next to a car in the Memlincstraat in Eindhoven. In December, he was sentenced by the court in Den Bosch for an attempted arson at a tanning salon in Oss. The tanning salon chain was several times the target of attacks. Because the convicted man had no motive, it is suspected that he was acting on behalf of a notorious crime family in Oss.

Against the 46-year-old Zekeriya Kocaman the prosecution demanded 20 years in prison. Kocaman, who is in a wheelchair after an attempt on his life, is suspected of organizing three - although unsuccessful - assassinations, illegal possession of weapons and drugs. The 'tough' mobster is also the leader of the Turkish mafia in the Netherlands.

Two Dutch were arrested in Spain this week with 12 tons of hashish aboard their ship. The vessel was spotted in Mediterranean near Almeria.

I was very often in Southern Netherlands and Amsterdam around 2010-2012. Got to know lots of turks over there. They were ALL in the drug game and most had tons of money and drugs. Us germans being very consiprative, cause we have strict laws were so surprised how openly these guys disscused buying +20 Kilos of weed on their cellphones. Ofc they were more cautious with harder stuff. Lots of business going on there and they have soft laws. I personally know a few guys who became Millionaires with just growing weed. Well I'd go all in too if I get busted with 10Kilos and can go home after an hour and just have to pay a fine.

Well said, Holland is a narco state. Most of the younger generation criminals are also influenced by the gangstarap from the US.

Christy Kinahan had a relationship with a Dutch woman.

I'm not sure if his links to Holland go any further than that.

The rewards outweigh the risks greatly for drug dealers in Holland that's for sure, but calling it a narco state goes a bit far imo. They haven't infiltrated high levels of politics or business YET. The big guys are trying their hardest to accomplish it though, but the government is very wary of such a thing happening even at the local level. It will be very difficult for them to stop it completely because the amount of money that is involved is ridiculous.

Maybe they haven't infiltrated national politics on a large scale like the narco-state Surinam for example, but you also have to look where they invest their money and how they use major banks here.

I hear ya H. and it's definitely getting out of hand.

The authors of that book 'De Achterkant van Nederland' give warnings about this great danger, the infiltration of the underworld in legitimate and political sectors of society. They say we're gonna have southern Italian situations in 10 years if the government doesn't fight this properly. They call it 'ondermijning' in their lingo.

Learning a lot here.

Never realised the gravity of this issue in Holland.

Narco State is far overexagerated. But as said before soft laws, mostly very liberal people and politics in general, coffeeshop polticis which are semi legal, biggest harbour in europe and then tons of immigrants who are for various reasons not so close with our believe system and into the western way of life of going to school and work for the rest of your life in a slave like job, are reasons for the special situation in holland.
I personally dont see an issue there. People are not more violent then in other countries and I know that even rich businessmen had problems with influencing local politics casue people are not really corrupt over there. By the way are the Netherland a very attractive country for businessmen from all over eurpoe cause of their tax system which makes it possible to evade taxes in other countries...big time, but legally.

I think the biggest reason for this strong drug game in holland are the offeeshops and weed growing. Everyone can do it and earn quite good money. I know a guy who had his whole house turned into a grow op. One day police raided it and seized everything. He wasnt there, so they just pinned a note to his door that hes supposed to come to the station to talk to them. He did go and just signed some papers and drank a coffee. In the end he had to pay a few thousand euros. But he made hundreds of thousands with growing and selling and this guy was not even big or kinda clever. If i, d done that 100 miles east across the border of germamy I,d have gone to jail immediately for +4 years.

Since i wasnt there the last years i have some questions?
Are the the police and courts still so soft on them? And do they raid grow ops still regularly or do they leave them alone?

They are very tough these days on cases where underworld figures want to infiltrate legitimate industry and politics. They don't really care if they stay on the fringes of society and make money by selling/importing drugs, but what they absolutely want to prevent is that organized crime evolves to the levels as the LCN in the US pre-1990's or certain regions in Sicily/Naples/Calabria, where they control certain economic/political sectors of society.

When it comes to weed and ecstasy Holland is a major producer, we are lucky we don't see high levels of violence, because narco groups can do whatever they want here no reason to fuck that up. But if there is a major bust or seizure they will def kill weak links.

I agree with them, this and the fact the world has changed. The drug market in Europe is worth 24 billion euros per year most of these drugs are produced in Holland or pass through it.

The coffeeshops play a big role in the image of Holland just like legalized prostitution, but I'm proud of that. It's not perfect, but if you regulate this stuff the circumstances for the people involved are better. Dutch have always been farmers and traders, so it makes sense some of them turn to weed and ecstasy production.

Yes, Christy Sr was an associate of 'The Thinker' Mink Kok since the early nineties. Mink's Lebanese brothers-in-law Koleilat Dalbi also did business with the Kinahan cartel. They are in prison in the US for trafficking cocaine.
But they had a fall-out when Daniel tried to take over their drug connections in South America. Mink's bagman Frank Scharrenberg was murdered in Marbella in 2013.

Robert Vreeswijk was arrested in Medellin in February. The authorities see Robert as a member of a drug trafficking organization allegedly linked to the notorious Gulf Clan. There is evidence against him through wiretapped telephone conversations with the head of the Colombian cartel. The requirement is 8 years imprisonment. That means effectively at least two and a half years.

Photos of the excavated bodies of the two men, wearing only underwear, already appeared on the Internet.

Rachid is the brother of Mohamed Benbouker, whose body was found in December 2011 in the North Holland Canal. He was killed with two other drug offenders, Arjan Kools and Maurice Bouhuijs. During the trial it emerged that Benbouker had extorted and threatened two of the perpetrators. Growing up in Amsterdam-Osdorp Mohammed Benbouker had a remarkable motto: "I stand with one foot in prison, and one in the grave."

How dare you H.?!? These guys are just motorcycle enthusiasts, who all have honest 9-to-5 jobs and only come together in the weekends to ride and maybe drink a couple of beers..
