I don't know if Berry was still performing, but he was until recently. When I saw him, a couple times he got lost in a loop somewhere. He went back to the start of the song each time, sang it fresh. It was almost 20 years ago, on a "see them while you can" bill with Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. Berry's the first to go.

There was no one better. RIP

Actually, it was announced last year that he would release a new album this year. No idea if that will happen now or not

When I heard this, I figured it would be similar like Bowie and Cohen where he will pass after it was released. RIP

The only founders of rock and roll still alive (as far as I can recall) are Little Richard and Fats Domino. Richard is 84 and Fats is 89.

If Domino makes it past this year, he will replace Berry for 2018. Thing is, I believe Fats has had history of bad health for some years now. It's still weird to see these three outlive a lot of the legends that would be inspired from them.

Jerry Lee Lewis is still alive. He's 81. Off the top of my head, he's the only other one of that generation that I can think of. Maybe there's more.

Don Everly is still around at 80. I think he's probably closest to Richard-Lewis-Domino, though not quite in the same category.

Jimmy Breslin, the award-winning columnist for NYC papers and author of many great novels died today at age 86. Breslin wrote "The Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight" a novel based on the Joey Gallo times. He often reported on organized crime an a colorful, bold way and I always enjoyed his columns. He was a key figure in the Son of Sam killings in 1977 NYC and wrote a good novel about it afterwards (".44").

Too bad about Jimmy. He was good.

Mike Aktari, who appeared on the Style Network's Jerseylicious from 2010-12, has died at age 28.

The reality star died in his hometown of Westbury, New York, on Monday, according to TMZ. The cause of death is not yet known, but police reportedly say that foul play is not suspected.

Chuck Barris gonged himself. The creator of "The Gong Show" died yesterday at age 87. Nobody here had picked him to go.

I liked that show just don't remember why I liked that show?
