I finally got around to reading his book, so I figured I would Google his name and see hoe he's doing, and looks like he's still dealing with demons. He seems been arrested twice in the last year one for driving under the influence, and assaulting a female.
GerryLang he had problems but it don't means that only because his surname is Demeo is dealing with demoni and other things similar.
I was finishing up the book and he talks a lot about how his fathers life effected, especially after Murder Machine came out. He's very candid when discussing the mental issues end drinking problems he had after coming to grips what hid dad done. The moral of the story is Al seems to still suffer in dome way from these issues. It shows the other side of the life we rarely hear about. Long after these guys die or go to prison their families have to live with the stigma of what their family member did.
Remember when the guy was selling returned checks with Roy's signature (apparently from his family's estate) on ebay? He was also selling Roy's "clothes" to fanboys on ebay. I'm sure it was just some 1970s-era suits and ties he picked up in thrift stores and passed off as "worn by mafia hit man Roy Demeo" on the internet.

This life of ours, this is a wonderful life. If you can get through life like this, hey, thats great. But it's very, very unpredictable. There are so many ways you can screw it up.-Paul Castellano (he would know)

Im not surprised. Albert was sort of involved in his fathers activities. Not murders but other parts of his activities. Roy taught him the best way to kill someone "Two shots to the head, make sure they are dead and then slit their f-ing throats" No wonder he is all messed up.
I feel bad for this guy. Im shocked his problems arent even worse after what he now knows about his father. Im sure his father loved him but the shit in those indictments will cause anyone deep emotional trauma.

No ifs and buts about it.
Some of the stuff he was passing off as Roy's was exposed as not even being manufactured when Roy was alive.
Not justifying his fall from grace but he had to identify his father's body.
I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.
Someone I know talked to his wife Elizabeth Detweiler recently and she said Albert committed suicide in 2017, here's the county record. Roy's last victim, Rest in Peace Albert.
Damn man that's so fucked up I remember reading his awesome (but tragic) book years ago. It just goes to show that one day someone's here then the next day they're gone. RIP Albert glad your pain is over ????

He did what he had to do to survive....I bet ya right now, that if Franzese put his soiled shorts on ebay and advertised it in one of his YouTube videos, there would be at least 100 of his creepy fanboys rushing to have it sent next day air !!
Yeah I know right, if it's someone like Franzese they'd be tripping over each other and would spend their life savings to buy it. The way I see it, Albert's life was already so fucked up, the least he could do was try to get something out of it.
He had been arrested several times in 2017 before killing himself in September, twice for DUI and once for assaulting a woman. The mugshots of his DUI arrest are said to have shown him bruised up. You have to feel bad for the guy but you wonder if Roy hadn't been murdered, would Albert have joined the life himself, like Gotti Jr. remember what he used to tell Dellacroce."Two in the head and make sure he's dead."
In essence, Roy Demeo can add his son to his hit list posthumously. People don't talk about the victims after the fact. The sons of either Henry Tameleo or Louis Greco in Boston (they died in prison wronfully convicted of the murder of Teddy Deegan) both ended up dead, at least one by suicide. They couldn't deal with the stigma in society.
Me personally, I wouldn't give a fuck about what anyone thought, because just from my experience with the average person they're hardly any better anyway.

Yes. Albert was clearly a troubled man. In his book "for the sins of my father" (well worth a read if you can pick up a copy on ebay) he says as a teen he took a .38 to school with him. Then after Roy died he often trawled around at night and collected scrap to take to the scrap yard just for something to keep him occupied. Roys actions have in essence stole his sons life too.
I feel very bad for Albert DeMeo. I highly doubt his father would of brought him into the gangster life. This is a case and point example of how being in the mafia could hurt your family members.
Did Roy leave his family any $$$ or assets? He had to have been a multi-millionaire. All that money just evaporates or gets absorbed by the mob when they die? In that Family Secrets trial one of the defendants had money stashed all over the city. $800K here, $300K there, $200K and jewelry stashed in the basement, etc. He wasn't earning like a Captain in the Gambino Family in the tail end of their heydays. And Roy was a huge earner. I would think someone like Roy would have had a massive amount of cash hidden somewhere or had something set up to take care of his family......reading that book it seemed pretty clear that Roy knew his days were numbered whether he was going to get clipped or going to prison. He was planning on taking off with a fake ID, you need $$$$ to do something like that.

Yes you're exactly right life as a fugitive is fucking expensive with a capital E! They found Whitey Bulger 16 years later with $800K stashed in his apartment. You definitely can't be a broke ass.
Looks like they enjoyed the fruits of Roy's labor the rest of their privileged lives, greased with the blood of his innocent victims.

So you blame them? They have to live with what he did, even though they were never a part of it. I don't see how they benefited, he died when they were still fairly young and starting out in life, and they were forced to make it on their own

. Very True. I think Albert himself mentioned in his book that they got weekly manicures and obviously lived in that big house. Then you think of all the victims Roy murdered like Dominick Ragucci and even that teenage girl Cherie Golden and it makes your stomach turn
This brings up an interesting thought when it comes to the YouTube world...
Gravano to his credit doesn't pull the tough guy bs, and say he bossed Demeo around...Just the opposite, he basically said he walked on pins and needles around him...
Then ya get Franzese, who you know never met him or his crew but is quick to denounce anything that his audience might somehow be impressed with....Only his exaggerated stories are believable...
I've never once seen Franzese say anything positive about anybody, including Jesus, on his videos, besides himself

No, I don't blame them but you and I should have been so lucky to be afforded a privileged life with the best schools and tutors money can buy to ensure success and a continued privileged life. Roy was a big earner and was never convicted of any crime and died a multi millionaire with upwards of 5 million dollars including shylock money out in the street, that's why the Gemini Twins wanted his Vig book from Albert. That's a great head start by anyone's standard of living, I bet they sleep just fine when lay their heads on those silk pillows in their mansion built on blood.

You have no idea if he left them a lot, if they had tutors, or how they sleep. You even think they have sold pillows. Your imagination is running away on you. Do you honestly think they are happy with what they have to constantly hear and read about their father? Or what happened to their brother? Nothing Roy did was their fault. It's as much mine or your fault as it is theirs.

As a matter of fact Jace, I do know because I have one degree of separation from Albert's widow who discussed what Al told her about life after Roy died. I never said it was their fault, only that they benefited from lifestyle built on profits from the misery of others, including child pornography and human trafficking. Since they're married, their names are changed and there are a lot of DeMeo's out there so you couldn't assume that they're related based on the last name.
Thanks for the info CNote! I also listened to a radio interview Albert did and he admitted that Roy left behind a lot of money for them from his illegal activities
