Whoa! Why?

Oli, growing up here going to school with the Mexican gang bangers, cholos and cholas, I would dj at some of their parties with my friends. Angel Baby, I'm Your Puppet and anything by War was played at least a half dozen times. Lol. Believe it or not I made a few friends with these gang bangers, cholos, vatos, whatever you want to call them. Whenever somebody got shot or some poor innocent kid was killed the song sung at the funeral was always Angel Baby. So, I can't listen to that song without being reminded of gang bangers.

Don Rickles - RIP.

His influence is felt to this day. especially with newer comics like Big Jay Oakerson.

I guess it says something about the priorities in my upbringing - when I was a kid one of the few things that would justify my staying up as late as 11:30 was to see Rickles's monologue when he hosted The Tonight Show.

I just read that. Wow. Tho I'm kind of surprised I'm really not. I know she had a real messed up life, living on the streets and I think drug abuse. Sorry to hear. Only 56.

Surprising enough, throat cancer is said to be what killed her. No drugs were found in her system at the time.

Wait! Elton John? I read yesterday he was home from hospital. Is his condition worse than an infection???? I hope not.


Re: Erin Moran, it was determined she likely died of cancer, tho not sure what kind. Also, I believe report said (surprisingly) that no drugs were in her system.

Elton John is supposed to be stable now, and resting at home. He did cancel dates up til July I believe. Either way, his body is probably still weak and stressed from the week long hospital visit. Hope it's not something that will effect him from now on.

Powers Boothe, an Emmy-winning character actor whose credits included “Nashville,” “The Avengers” and “Deadwood,” died Sunday at age 68.

The first movie I remember seeing him in was way back where he played Jim Jones. I don't remember the title, but he was excellent!

That was Guyana. I agree he was excellent there. Also remember him fondly from Tombstone, Deadwood, and the original Red Dawn. He also elevated Sudden Death to a much higher level than it would have been otherwise.
