That disease comes on fast and being in jail with out the best health care probaly a death sentence. Buy the time he gets out he'll be a shell of his old self. With all his friends and brother inlaw dead its probaly over for him.

your post was so vague. "No wonder there are so many murderers there". Wasn't sure if you were talking about murders in general, which your post implies. Because that couldn't be further from the truth. Even though sentences are so light in Canada, the numbers of murders in general are astronomically higher in the U.S. per capita.

Even though you finally clarified you were talking about LCN murders, your comment still makes no sense. This next part will probably be over your head, but you are making a connection between sentences and the amount of murders in the LCN, by saying that short sentences equals more murders. Yet across Canada there are way less murders per capita, with LCN murders simply being an exception to the rule. Statistics would suggest the reason for LCN murders being higher is something else. There are a couple of things that could be.

No shit, ya really say? I had no idea what MS is even though I have a close family member with it. Not all end up in wheelchairs either so that's no guarantee.

There are many variations of MS, Ray has breathing problems and uses a device.

In this article, Daniel Renaud theorizes in one part that the attempted murder of Desjardins in September 2011 did not come from Montagna's camp but from the pro-Rizzuto faction.

Keep stalling, they are getting those extra days like Desjardins did before he was sentenced. They are loving this.

Because they are behind bars safe while there is a war at hand and the fact that the more days they spend behind bars now gets them out earlier once sentenced. Makes a big difference.

First argument makes sense, second one I'm not sure because in the end they've served the same amount of time if I'm not mistaken.

No they don't get the same amount of time. They get 1.5 days for every 1 day they serve behind bars. The judge cannot take that into account and sentences them to what they would get anyways.

Desjardins was sentenced to 14 years. He already spent close to 5 years behind bars netting (365 days times 5 = 1,825 days times 1.5 per day = 2,737.5 total days) himself 7.5 years behind bars when he spent only 5 years behind bars. That leaves him with 6.5 years left compared to 9 more years if the 1.5 wasn't factored in.

So all said and done he's serving 11.5 years of a 14 year sentence. So no, it's not the same amount of time.

The others are gaining those days as well and I'm betting they don't get the same sentence Desjardins got either.
