Moe, come on. Junior signed off on this project. Probably his money paying for the movie. "Glorifying a criminal?" Come on, man. What did you expect? Not many gangster movies around who don't glorify them, to some extent at least.
-I shot him a coupla' times. -What's a couple? -Hmm, more than a couple... Really I don't know the exact amount, maybe I shot him 10 times, 12 times? -Maybe fifteen? -Hmm, it could've been fifteen...

The words at the very end read (i'm paraphrasing) "He showed the world who was boss".....
We are talking about a degenerate gambler who drew so much heat and attention to the Gambinos that he practically destroyed them.
Then "after" he nearly decimates one of the best most well oiled crime families in history, he winds up in a supermax for the rest of his short life.
He really showed the world who was boss alright.
One more thing..... Did anybody catch the little scene with Willie Boy? That was a brilliant piece of casting (NOT) some skinny little american looking guy with curly hair. You mean nobody in the casting dept ever saw a picture of the real Willie Boy Johnson? Even the budget movie "Sinatra Club" got closer to the real Willie Boy.
They also have "Curly" playing "Quack Quack".
The HBO movie so far is looking way better.
Sal Adam Beach from Flags of Our Fathers would've been a better casting choice. Guy who plays Ruggiero is a good actor, and likeness, though.
I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.

He really showed the world who was boss alright. Touché. I also find this to look suboptimal. Btw, they make it look like Dellacrose is still alive after Castellano is shot.
"It was between the brothers Kay -- I had nothing to do with it."

Junior is probably the main man on this project, the adviser, and probably the one who decides which scenes make the cut or not. I bet he's so excited he's probably wet his pants when watching the trailer. Even though John Gotti loved publicity I really doubt he'd like this shit if he were alive.

Thats the way it works man. You know it. What was he supposed to do, sell his house? That's the life when you're the boss, you're expected to live large, spend money, gamble... everyone you know gambles.

Guys like Merlino and Gotti were bosses and they constantly racked up debts they couldn't/wouldn't pay! Gotti did a lot of things wrong, but according to friend and foe alike he always paid his gambling debts.. right......with his crew members earnings. So basically his crew paid off his debts and they had to resort to dealing drugs to earn True. On one of those wiretaps Angelo Ruggiero is heard complaining about this to Gene Gotti..

Looks terrible. Just my opinion. Time will tell but I'll be shocked if it gets a theatrical release. It might be worth streaming, though.
Side note: It looks like Gotti is saying a prayer at Frank's grave. The HBO movie with Assante made the same mistake. Frank Gotti is in the family crypt in the mausoleum at Saint John's. But I understand the directorial license. Yeah, that too. Off record, I dunno why you don't post anything on my thread Pizzaboy, huh? And yeah, you don't know me but I know you, alright? Just post something, much love. Here's the link: Wiseguys

William Forsythe was a convincing Sammy Gravano.
He was also great in Boardwalk Empire. He was great in both of those roles. He was great as Cockeye in Once Upon A Time In America as well. I remember when I saw Gotti for the first time I laughed when I saw him as Gravano, I said "hey it's cockeye"
