I owe 20k on the street and pay 2k in interest every month. My gambling addiction combined with loans I took to do business that has since fell through has ruined my life. I havent gambled in 5 months and I make decent money at work but nowhere near enough to get out of this. I am totally ruined. Have tried to borrow money from family and the like and I am now completely out of options. If I didnt have a wife and son I would have jumped off a bridge by now. Even though the fbi would consider me a victim of loansharks I would never rat because i did this to myself. Just remember that OC is not glamorous

well, not sure what to say but 20k owed is not the end of the world. main thing is to some how make sure that you're not piling up charges / penalties on top of the money. need to come up with a repayment plan with the people you owe but got to tell them they can't expect you to keep paying charges upon charges so that the "principal ' never goes down.

here in the UK we are bombarded with gambling adverts, and i mean bombarded. Especially if you're watching / listening to sports.
Equal to that are the payday loan adverts with apr's of 1150%.

## have to add that up until 15 odd years ago, if you went to a casino or bingo hall, you were only allowed entrance / membership after 24 hours if you wasn't already a member. Most banks only have like 3k in the drawer pmac so its not really worth the risk altho i cant say i haven't thought of it but wouldnt wanna leave my family without me as theyd be wprse off. Worst possible thing that can happen is that you win, then you're hooked...

Then as the years progress you start betting bigger and losing bigger, its almost like you actually don't care if you win or lose anymore because you're never ahead.. its the action that you like most, and that's when you're a full blown degenerate gambler...

I've thrown away tens of thousands over the years and I'm now 50 years old...All I can say is stop today my friend...I wish I could do it all over again...Cut your losses today !!

My dad’s ex employer (he was a chef 20 yrs ago at some restaurant), well the owner got hooked on gambling

She owed 100k and ended up selling her restaurant just to pay the loan sharks (it was a casino run by some local Tong guys) down Chinatown

And the saddest part is, the restaurant had 3 floors above to reside in/ which was supposed to go to her son (he was only a teen at time so was under her name)
(entire property was left behind by her late husband) for the son

So not only did she Fuk her future but his too

Also, she sold for 100k or so, had she kept hold of it it’s now worth over a million

I have allways paid and on time, been up down and all around and have great credit with these guys. Unfortunately i have sucked my entire life dry in the process. Got no credit score left, nothing to sell and have tried borowing the money elsewhere so I can pay it back with less interest and actually pay 2k a month and get somewhere.

Hey thanks for the response. I am not scared of anything and have not been threatened. I know nothing is really gonna happen but the thing is my guy knows a lot of people I am connected to so the debt will allways be there no matter what. If I pay down the principle I can restructure the juoce. I dont even know why I posted this shit, maybe just my way of venting or letting people know how shitty it feels to be a degenerate gambler. Thanks for all your responses. Just to clarify a couple things, my guy is someone who i am connected to thru multiple people and family members. Everyone around here knows everyone. According to him he is at the mercy of other people but is willing to knock down the juice if I knock off some big chunks of principle. I have good credit as its been several years I borrowed tons of money, and paid the balances down all the while betting huge amounts of money weekly and allways coming up with it when I lost. I had a nice little side business which came crashing down last summer. I lost all the income and potential income in one day and the whole ordeal cost me another 4-5k. When i lost my side business I was about 13k in debt. I borrowed another 4k and lost 3k more betting sports before I finally addressed my gambling problem. That was last summer, since then my life has been crazy. My monthly bills are about 5-6k not including the loans. I was making good money and took on a lot of bills and commitments before I got in trouble. My mortgage and daycare for my kid is over 3200 alone every month. Now i make about 2k a week and im allways broke. Very depressing and hard to juggle shit and face the wife who knows im allways broke and hates me

The Northeast isn’t piss cheap to live in like Alabama, that’s actually a pretty common average middle class monthly nut for the NY/NJ/Philly Area....

Mortgage is 1900 w property taxes figured in and daycare 1300. Both are standard for around here. No way of downsizing
