You'd have to make a short list of bad songs on the show. David Chase's first love was music, he was in a Jersey rock band before he got into television, hence the inspiration for his movie Not Fade Away. He cast Little Steven of the E Street Band as a mobster. Who would think of that? lol.
One song on the soundtrack that I never get tired of:
"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea

I'm sure he had a lot of input. I seemed to have read somewhere that Chase's daughter, Michele DeCesare, who played Meadow's friend Hunter, actually put together the "Every Breath You Take/Peter Gunn" mash up. I believe she was a music student at that time.

Ill go also with Otis Redding My Lovers Prayer. It goes so well with the scene.
Van Morrison- Glad Tidings Chi-Lites Oh Girl "My Rifle, Pony and Me" Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson
So many great songs in the series and this reason the show is so good.

To this day every time I hear that song I think of poor Bobby Senior crashing into that pole.
I remember when the show was airing, someone on the usenet forums pointed out that earlier in that episode, Meadow is listening to headphones and singing a song called "Leave Me Breathless" and they thought it was intentional foreshadowing of how Baccala senior would die. lol. Probably coincidence, but you never know with these writers. They are clever.

Great song, Hollander. Like the Motown sound. Good concept by Little Steven. Song plays when Tony and Junior decide to kill Jimmy Altieri.

Anyone want to take a crack at breaking down the "Seven Souls" song at the beginning of Members Only, how the lyrics relate to the story and characters?

Not only the best song used but best ending to a soprano episode ever. This scene alone can show the world what endeared us to Tony Soprano. He may be a boss (of a glorified crew) but he is still a human and above all a man. And Zellman fucked up by dipping into Irina.

My favorite is the season 2 ending Thru and Thru. I also like Nobody Loves Me But You from A Hit Is a Hit. But really too many too many to choose from. The music was a big part of the show just like in a Scorsese film.

Best use of a song on The Sopranos IMO was Fred Neil's "The Dolphins" playing over the scene where Christopher relapses on heroin.
Yeah with the dog Also good use is in season 5 after the dinner with bobby and janice when janice started go crazy and tried to stab tony with the fork, Then tony get out and they played the kinks song i'm not like everybody else.

One of the few scenes where Tony annoyed me. haha. Was uncalled for, but he did it for a reaction from Janice. She was doing so well with her anger management..

My favorite song from the show was Frente a Frente the Boca song. When junior took his girl friend to Boca.
Also the song when tony was fucking Gloria the car girl. Forget the name the song by Silvio “ Affection†when he was with the lost boys good song. I have it on one of my iPads somewhere.
only the unloved hate

Word has it Federico Castelluccio (Furio) was written off the show for leaking script details.

That has been around for awhile Oaks, he had a girlfriend around the time Made was being filmed that was in the media and leaked minor plots in Made and the Sopranos, nothing serious for the writers to just get rid of Furio.
Favorite song from the series? There are many as they did a good job of setting the scene up. I would have to say "Glad Tidings" by Van Morrison. It was played in the finale of season 5.

The Kinks "Living on a thin line" and Journey "Don't stop Believing."
Reason for the Journey pick is not because of the finale, but because it is in fact a favorite of mine and was chosen as the song that my wife and I used for our wedding reception entrance.
