THE 15:17 TO PARIS
This is definitely not on par with Clint Eastwood's best efforts. Obviously, with the real life heroes portraying themselves, the acting was amateurish. Most of the movie isn't spent on the events on the train, maybe only the last 20. The rest of the film was them growing up and backpacking through Europe. Not to take anything away from the heroic acts these 3 men displayed in thwarting a terrorist attack, but based solely as a film, this didn't work for me and I even question the necessity of making a movie based on this event in the first place. 5/10 I was surprised to hear this week abc movie critic Sandy Kenyon’s review covering this movie. He was very critical and not as respectful as your review that has shown appreciation to the heroic men.

I did a Pam Grier double-feature yesterday with COFFY and FOXY BROWN. COFFY is probably the more well known of the two but FOXY stands on her own as well. Pam does a good job in both as an ass kicking, take no prisoners, revenge seeking heroine. Also nice to see Sid Haig in both as well. Quentin Tarantino did swipe a song or two from COFFY for his Pam Grier staring film, JACKIE BROWN. And just a side note, as much as I respect and admire Pam Grier, her Jamaican accent in COFFY definitely could have used some work! THAT is one sexy woman..always loved her since I saw her Coffy as a teen, especially where she finally turns all the around topless,u could get lost in there & would'nt I luv 2!!
I didn't want to leave blood on your carpet...

You mean Trading Places w/ Eddie Murphy...@ that time ,,Jamie Lee Curtis had the most perfectly shaped breasts in all of Hollywood. Yes Sir, that would be it. MS. 45
Drafthouse Films did an excellent job with the Blu-Ray transfer for MS. 45. The picture and colors are the best I've ever seen the film. A very strong performance by Zoe Lund who plays a mute who is twice raped on her way home from work one day. Insuring it will never happen to her again, she becomes a vigilante who stalks the city of New York to get rid of any and all aggressive men. This film reminded me very much of a female portrayal of TAXI DRIVER where the grimy New York City is a character within itself as well. Another great revenge thriller. 7/10 Hidden great, wife loves this flick. Ive seen it several times. This movie was filmed in NYC , little Italy.

Have you seen the Blu-Ray release that Drafthouse Films put out a few years ago? It looks great. The best print I've seen of the film!

BLACK PANTHER
I'll start out by saying there is quite a bit of hype surrounding this film. While it is good and better than some other movies within the MCU, I don't believe it's in the upper echelon with the likes of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, THOR: RAGNAROK or the original IRON MAN. Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan do fantastic jobs as both T'Challa/Black Panther and Erik Killmonger respectively. I understand the significance this film holds as being one of only a few minority superheroes but that doesn't mean it gets a free pass for breaking fertile ground. The second to third acts I felt seemed to drag and the film could have been trimmed down some. It opened up wonderfully with some nice action, set designs, use of light/colors and the technology was my favorite aspect of the film. I believe Black Panther is going to be one of the major characters going forward after the next 2 AVENGER films. 7.5/10
SPLATTER UNIVERSITY
A nice old fashioned 80's slasher movie with good music, a bad film transfer, some audio problems at certain parts of the film, and a predictable killer. I'm a sucker for cheesy 80's horror. 5.5/10
SICARIO
A slow burn of a film that I believe actually works for it. I don't feel it gets too inflated and times out at just the right moment before seeming to drag. Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro play very well together about keeping Emily Blunt in the dark about her true motives of being on their team. Benicio doesn't have many lines of dialogue but when he does, he delivers them very cold and you believe this man is capable of a great many, hurtful and disturbing things. I'm looking forward to the sequel this summer! 7/10

We will certainly be looking to catch up with the Slasher flick and the Brolin / Del Toro movie. I will check out the BP but she’s not into Super Hero movies.

They're trying harder to compete with Netflix. Before the last year or so it was kind of garbage and I never used it. But when I saw them adding more and better content, I began taking more advantage of it.
