The country was far better when Obama left office than it was when he was sworn in, which was in the middle of a deep recession, thanks to the Bush administration.

The last two Republican presidents left a worse economy than what they inherited, and I don't see Trump having any ideas that would reverse the trend. Deregulation, trade policies written by corporations, tax cuts to the wealthy....same recipe for disaster that Republican presidents always destroy the economy with.
