Police have arrested more than 18 people in connection with organized crime cells in the Greater Toronto Area, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said. Heavily-armed tactical units from York Region, Toronto and Guelph took part in the RCMP-led raids early morning on Tuesday. The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit executed 25 search warrants following a two-year investigation, dismantling several alleged crime cells in the GTA involved with importing drugs, trafficking of firearms and drugs, extreme violence and extortion. One suspect was taken into custody from Louana Crescent, near Highway 7 and Weston Road, in Vaughan just before 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Around the same time, two suspects were also taken into custody from a high-end condominium on Evans Avenue, across from Sherway Gardens, in Etobicoke. There is no word on charges. Police will reveal more details at a 11 a.m. news conference on Wednesday. Source: http://www.citynews.ca/2015/06/02/18-arrested-gta-raids-targeting-organized-crime-rcmp/

Am I missing something? They've got maps with Italy, Mexico and the Caribbean, suggesting they're international traffickers with global supply routes, and they busted these guys with 7kg of cocaine and 5kg of weed? That doesn't make them pushers on the street corner but it a sure as hell doesn't suggest they're major importer/exporters. Actually, that does make them street pushers, or one step removed, that's less than a pound of product per dude arrested. Well it's VERY WELL known that the Rizzuto's owned the Montreal drug route that funneled probably hundreds of tons of coke, heroin, etc. into America that come from South America countries that I think the Cun-trera/Caruana's sent out. I imagine Vito let them funnel their own through there as well and of course now after everything they might even control some of it now. I'd say it's more possible they are heavy hitters than they are nobodies (talking about Ndrangheta guys)

"all I'm saying is the police are probably full of it. maybe the guys they caught are heavy hitters, with their use of the phrase "significant dent" to the drug trade, but if they are they caught them bunting. i suppose it's better than catching the guy pushing grams and 8-balls on the street corner but what they caught them with doesn't justify their claims"
Google Diego Serrano's name. Google it with "Escobar" and see what you come up with.
That's all I'm going to say.

all I'm saying is the police are probably full of it. maybe the guys they caught are heavy hitters, with their use of the phrase "significant dent" to the drug trade, but if they are they caught them bunting. i suppose it's better than catching the guy pushing grams and 8-balls on the street corner but what they caught them with doesn't justify their claims The 'Ndrangheta has surpassed some criminal organizations when it comes to trafficking drugs, specifically cocaine, in the Canada, the US & elsewhere. Part of the reason for this is the amount of satellite groups they have in the Caribbean, the UK, and through control of the ports in Calabria and other places. They may have caught these guys with mid-level stuff, but they're likely just trying to put together a paper trail, hoping it leads back to some of the bigger names. The Verduci theory is interesting, if he was killed as a debt to settling old scores, I wonder if the other murders which occurred after Rizzuto's death, were also done to wipe the slate clean so to speak. Like Ducarme Joseph.

Wow never thought Diego Serrano would deal with such small street stuff. I always thought he was very intelligent, but maybe he's not. I know he has cash, so why deal with such small amounts at that age? Maybe, he's broke. Who knows.

I haven't seen your post anti, but thanks for the articles. The Ursinos are related to the Lo Presti family. They made alliances overseas with the Gambino crime family of New York City, and with the families of the 'Ndrangheta in Canada, of Rocco Zito, Michele Racco, Cosimo Stalteri in Toronto and Vic Cotroni in Montreal.
