Quick clarification; Even though often it's presented as having a horizontal structure.... It's kinda been proven that Ndrangheta has a strict hierarchy and chain of command. ALL the locales supposedly are clones of mother locales in Calabria. Edit; I also don't think your locale can be official if it's not ratified in Calabria, then you become, what is it called a bastard? Furious probably knows the term...
@ Furio
Correct me if I'm wrong here.....
Costa nostra and ndrangheta are criminal freemasonry. The Naples gangs mostly control products, markets. It's been like that since the world wars, with the black market first, then the huge cigarette trade. Then the huge open air drug markets and the high fashion sweat shops... They all infiltrate construction and agriculture/ supermarkets.
The ndrangheta become famous in the last years but in the last century, they created ndrine and Locali in all the world especially in Australia,of course a ndrine in another country must be recognized by the others an in fact every years in september there a summit of all the important bosses to the sanctuary of the Madonna of Polsi, here they decide if open or close a Locale, who must die etc http://www.laspia.it/ndrangheta-processione-madonna-crimine-riti-sacri-mafiosi/

Until the 1970s the locale of Cosenza, led by Luigi Palermo was called local bastard and badly seen, because it didn't follow the traditional rules and rites. Things changed with the entry into the scene of the two new criminal groups of the Pino and Sena after the murder of the old capobastone.

You broke the hierarchy down perfectly. Is it true that cosa nostra had a hand in the organizational structure of the ndrangheta after they had a huge war?

Yes, some even claimed 'Ndrangehta is just extension of Cosa Nostra. Both organizations are very well connected with freemasonry, heavily influenced by freemasonry

Ndrangheta is an umbrella group so how many clans actually have international branches? There's over 100 clans and i doubt all of them have an international branch (es). No differ from these other crime associations , some groups are more larger than others just like street gangs umbrellas.
ndrangheta is an unique oganization like cosa nostra, there are several clans but they belong to a single criminal group and there is a boss of bosses according to police it has nothing to do with street gangs, very different thing, ndrangheta is strongly connected with politicians, freemasons, businessmen, street gangs run just streets stuff (drug dealing, prostitution) and they are not a single group, although bloods and crisps may claim of
You misunderstood the question & comparison. There's over 100 clans and they vary by membership. How many clans actually have international branches in other countries. You stated their similar like Cosa Nostra which means the Ndrangheta isn't a single organization but an association of crime groups that share a code of conduct. Hence, similar to a gang umbrella. Examples: Crips Umbrella have over 100 gangs. Each gang varies in size & activities. Ndrangheta Association have over 100 clans. Each vary in size & activities.
Certain Crip gangs are bigger like the Rollin 60s, Grape Street, or Hoover Criminals. Im expecting there's certain Ndrangheta clans that have a large membership.
They all belong to SINGLE criminal group, when he said Cosa Nostra , he meant on Sicilian mafia, where you have Matteo Messina Denaro , who is not boss of bosses because he is not from Palermo, but if anyone is doing something important,he must have ok.Totally different thing than street gangs.
Stupid comparison: look at them as a crews in Genovese Crime Family for example, they all belong to single criminal gropup(Genovese Crime Family),at the end they are all answering to a few people that are on top.
I know what the Cosa Nostra is and again your misunderstood something so simple. Do all the CLANS have INTERNATIONAL BRANCHES!? Yes or No. Thet all in the same ASSOCIATION known as Ndrangheta BUT they AREN'T under 1 boss. Multiple bosses for each ndrina. Therefore the comparison wasn't stupid just MISUNDERSTOOD to you.

Like m2w said, there is a boss of bosses according to police, so they are all under one boss/or multiple people who are on top. Ndrina boss answer to someone higher than he is.

1)ndrangheta isn't an exstension of Cosa Nostra; 2)the had no boss of the bosses but a chamber of control for avoid the feuds.

I said some believe they are extension of Sicilian Mafia, even Buscetta made that claims.

Go look up for Pasquale Condello aka Il Supremo(The supreme one),police believe he was on top of 'Ndrangheta, boss of bosses.

Condello was the most powerful and thanks to this can impose on the others but was never boss of the bosses because there would be a war that would seriuosly damge the ndrangheta, and the chamber of control would ordered to kill Condello.
Then you have "real brains" behind the mafia, who are freemasonry members, white collar criminals etc. Who i am sure more powerful than any 'Ndrangheta boss we currently know.
The secret 'Ndrangheta 'cupola', members of the so called 'Santa', ruled the elections of several politicians at provincial, regional and national level; among them Giuseppe Scopelliti, ex mayor of Reggio Calabria, Umberto Pirilli, member of the European parlament and Felice Romeo (members of the Alvaro crime family) dirigent of regional forestals; they run the national and European funds destined to Calabria, they had links with Cosa Nostra, Camorra and Sacra Corona. Among the politicians who had links with the 'cupola' also Giovanni Alemanno, ex mayor of Rome, and Maurizio Gasparri, vice-president of Senate.
According to police sources,Pasquale Condello owns real estate and businesses worth more than 54 million euros in Rome and other Italian cities
Is/Was he much more worth than that you think? Cause i mean 54 million euros is not much if youre considered the "Supreme one" in one of the most profitable criminal organization in the world.

yes, ndrangheta has not a real boss of bosses, in the operation 'crimine' police said oppedisano was, but just in name not like totò riina for sicilian mafia who was really the boss of bosses who commanded other bosses anyway the fact they are not under 1 boss it means nothing, ndrangheta is a single big hierarchical criminal group, with ranks and ceremonies, divided into several crime families (locali) and sub-groups (ndrine) under a body of control with the most important bosses (crimine/camera di controllo) several ndrangheta clans have intenrational branches, i don't know exactly how many street gangs like crisp and bloods in the states may have several crews in several cities but they are not all connected each other, there is not a national coordination of bosses like cosa nostra, there are not specific ranks

Thank you for answering the question. I was curious about that ans seems this new revalation that there a hierarchical group seems rather vague. Also, It's CRIPs not crypts and yes some are connected to each other through family and business ties. You and many on here are just not aware of it. Like i said, certain groups have more connections then others.

that's what italian police said after the operation 'crimine', ndrangheta is a big single hierarchical criminal group i doubt honestly that crips and bloods in the states are even close to it. they are just gangs under a flag but non connected eachother if not sporadically nigerian mafia yes, it's like the italian mafia
