The arrest of nine people with alleged links to the Hells Angels in northern New Brunswick this week will not have a major impact on drug trafficking in the region, according to an expert on criminal bikers .

Nine New Brunswickers were arrested for drug trafficking on Tuesday as part of a Hells Angels investigation. One of those arrested is a teacher at École Place-des-Jeunes in Bathurst.

A void is being created right now, but they will not take [...] a lot of time to go back and be able to continue to provide the same level they provide before.

The Hells Angels extend their network with the help of "business relations," explains Sylvain Tremblay, that is to say, people who collaborate in their activities without being officially part of the organization.

"They're back [in New Brunswick], and I think they've really expanded their network, which means they're everywhere with groups, business people who are less visible a bit for police forces. So, it takes more time at the survey level. [...] It's really more effective at the business level for the Hells, and indeed they are very present in New Brunswick, "explains Sylvain Tremblay.
