And yeah, maybe guys like Sharpton & Jackson are right, in that instance, to advocate and draw attention to the ridiculousness of the sentences meted out to the cops and the Korean shopkeeper, but, the documentary I watched kind of implied that the whole riot situation would've been averted, or at least not as bad, were it not for their interventions.

A lot of people were justifiably upset, but they lit the spark for the opportunists who used the whole situation as an excuse to loot and stuff.

People should watch the National Geographic documentary "LA 92", if given the chance. It's free on comcast right now and I believe it's on netflix. Wall to wall clips of raw coverage, news stories and press conferences before, during and after the riots. No narration or reenactments.

One of my patients husband was one of the engineers for my favorite jet of all time F14. When you stand next to one of those fuckers and then see it in flight, that's all I could think about.
