They're viewed a threat because quite a few of the traditional street gangs of African American, Mexican, Dominican, Puerto Rican, Caribbean (Jamaican or Haitian), Chinese and Vietnamese backgrounds always took a "money first, mayhem later" approach to the point that they definitely made major inroads into organized crime. Of course they whack each other left and right, but they're mostly focused on business.

Now you got those "new" street gangs...like Southeast Asians (Cambodians and Hmong for instance) or Somalis that aren't nearly as successful as far as graduating to OC is concerned, but are definitely a major public nuisance because of the way they love to create all out mayhem and terror. The thing is though, that those gangs lack numbers compared to the traditional ones. With the Central American gangs like MS-13 the thing is that they also take a similar approach in seemingly not caring all that much about money making and "professionalism" and prefer to bring the terror, but that they also are HUGE in numbers. That's definitely a cause for concern to about everyone.

Nope. That poll doesn't speak for majority of Blacks and i know that for sure since I didn't take it nor was asked. That's political charades to ask a small sample group and use their response to speak for a majority. People by now should know these opinionated polls is hogwash.

Well the poll isnt shocking. Anyone with common sense would view ms as a serious threat. Those guys are borderline terrorists.

Very serious threat to who exactly? Blacks? I don’t think MS in particular is a big threat to Black Americans. I could see how Black Americans, White Americans, Hispanic Americans etc etc would view MS 13 in a unfavorable way which makes sense. But what could MS possibly come close to doing that the Crips and Bloods haven’t done?

Is MS a big rising threat? Possibly in some communities on the east coast where they’re newer. But MS13’s big rise was in the 80s and 90s. Maybe mid 2000’s was their peak in Central America.

MS-13 is nothing out here in Cali. Maybe other parts of the country just need more gangs to fend off MS.

Yea, MS 13 is a gang created by the kids of salvadorian immigrants. Kids heavily influenced by heavy metal music and then later by LA gang culture. They didn’t enter the country as MS 13. LA gang culture was a foreign idea and culture to El Salvador at that time before it got exported over there. Like all major LA gangs, they eventually spread and recruited around the country. But with more media attention because unlike most gangs, they recruit illegal immigrant kids, and they’re still around while the bigger more notorious gangs have passed their prime.
