'The FBI Story' - 1959 with James Stewart lots of great scenes of new york in the late 50's. Just watched it. 50s Scenes were cool, but a gray headed Stewart was unexpected. Same here.

SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY
To begin, I've never been heavily invested in the Star Wars spin-off movies and after watching SOLO last night, both this and ROGUE ONE pale in comparison to the saga with the exception of Episode I. Woody Harrleson was his normal, charming self. Donald Glover seamlessly stepped into the role of Lando Calrissian. Alden Ehrenreich did an admiral job as Han Solo, considering the shoes he's having to fill. Emilia Clarke and Paul Bettany were both enjoyable yet forgettable in their respective roles. The droid, in this film L3-37, is always a fan favorite and provides the necessary humor the film needs. And with any movie of this caliber and being made my Disney, the special FX were spot on. With all of the production problems that occurred, they were able to salvage a decent movie out of it. 6.5/10

ALL EYEZ ON ME
This is what I find to be the problem with biopics, they seem to be a highlight reel of a person's life. They just reenact high or low periods and the story is very weak and seems to skip from one event to the next. That's the problem we have here. I thought Demetrius Shipp Jr. did a fine job as Tupac Shakur. Dominic L. Santana was fine as Suge Knight, however, I felt R. Marcos Taylor's portrayal from STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON was definitely more vicious and menacing. I feared him more than Santana. The costumes were on point as they looked very authentic, however the jewelry, not so much. Some of the more dramatic scenes were almost comical and for whatever reason, at times, this film seemed to have a made-for-TV feel to it. 5/10

I just saw Mother! with Javier Barden and Jennifer Lawrence. It was the worst garbage I have ever seen. It had mixed reviews form critics and fans alike. I agree... my wife enticed me in to it & I was disappointed .weird...very weird... True my friend.. It seems to be trying hard to be weird and impossible to understand, then to make it worse the ending left you even more confused. The movie was not scary at all, but the fact that the director is gaining a following does scare me.

UPGRADE
UPGRADE is a film about a man who seeks revenge after he's attacked and his wife killed (in front of his very eyes no less). The main star, Grey Trace (played by Logan Marshall-Green), is left a quadriplegic after the attack. He tries an experimental new technology called The Stem, that is inserted into his neck and allows him to regain the use of his body. The Stem also gives Grey abilities he didn't have prior to his accident. The set pieces of this films are at times breathtaking and I applaud the crew for their designs as well as the advancements in technology that are displayed onscreen. We're not given a year when this film takes place but computers and machines are relied upon even more than they are today and are capable enough to do almost any task. For some reason (maybe because of the over-the-top, brutal violence) I was reminded of CRANK while watching this. While there isn't as much action in this film as there was in the former, it's definitely still a very fun and enjoyable ride. I'm unsure how much business it'll do at the box office, but it's good popcorn flick and has been getting some positive reviews as well. 6/10
Wife loved this. I did not see c but she went with girlfriends they love flicks that were books, I think this one was.
Johnny Knoxville is at it again, destroying his body for our amusement. And while the only decent funny scenes are those that are reminiscent of his Jackass days, this is an actual film and not just a bland story woven around his stunts. Unfortunately, the laughs in this are far and few in between. If this is something you're interested in seeing, this is definitely one to wait until it's available for streaming. The film takes place in 1979 so the soundtrack is pretty good with songs of this era. 4/10
A bit much for me but on a slow do nothin day I would certainly check it out in my reclyner. Why not, I did see all of his others and was amuzed. Thanks I 12

Not a problem. Glad the wife enjoyed UPGRADE. Hey, at least it's an original story. Strange coming out of Hollywood Right, everything is a retread lately. I watched The Original Universal WearWolf movie tonight... WearWolf of London, never seen it..... was really good Classic Flick. Svengoolie gave some interesting facts about the Director , Producer and Star having issues with the makeup Artist.

I still have the Universal Classic Monsters Blu-Ray I've been meaning to watch but I just haven't found the time. It has the original Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man, etc.
